Hello!
I am new to the list and searching for Elizabeth Moore who arrived in the USA from Ireland about 1875. She would have been about 12 yr. old at the time. If anyone can give me info on how to find her on a passenger list, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Sue
Hello,
Can anyone help me or offer suggestions as to where I might locate information, any information?
My family immigrated 19 May 1845, ship "Iowa", and 20 May 1847, ship "Francis Depau". Both were said to have come from Switzerland, via Havre, France, to port of New York. Various records indicate/alternate between Switzerland and Germany as location of births. I have found very little regarding either ship.
Is there any way of determining where they were born, what village, town or area? How ca
The name Zimmerman interests me because one of our first settlers of
prominence was a family/man named Zimmerman. They Americanized their name
to Carpenter. Their stately old home still stands. All this in Cole Camp,
MO. If there is any linage please let me know because I know the family
that did extensive research on the Cole CampZimmermanns/Carpenters.
I am sort of the local historian and hence my interests.

I wonder can anyone tell me where I could find a passenger list of people travelling from USA to Janaica in the years 1840-1850.
I have looked on the ships list and plenty going Jamaica to USA but not USA to Jamaica.

Try going to Ancestory.com and clicking the passenger lists link. You will have to sign up for a membership but it is free for 14 days. If you have a year of birth and the immigration year, you may be able to find her. Exact years work the best and the port of arrival are also good to have. I was able to find an ancestor with exact years and the port of arrival. Sometimes the manifests will have incorrect spellings so don't give up in your search.
Best of luck!

Thank you for your kind and gracious response to my inquiry.
As my knowledge stands at this point in time, all my ZIMMERMAN's remained ZIMMERMAN, they settled and resided in OH, IN, MD and WV.

USA did not keep its outbound lists so finding any is very challenging. You will have to check to see if Jamaica has inbound lists.
