1. [USGenWeb-SW] New SW/SC representative [1]
BTW, I forgot to mention this in my earlier "Your Opinion" post, but it is OK to forward that message on to others who may be interested. The state lists for the SW/SC region would be particularly appropriate. Thanks, -Teresa merope@radix.net

If USGenWeb does/can not buy, isn't a porn site a possibility? You're saying that they should refuse to sell to the highest bidder if they think the buyer might ever put a porn si
3. [USGenWeb-SW] Your Opinion [1]
Until the AB officially accepts the resignation of Ken Short, there is no vacant seat. When the new AB takes over, this will probably be their first priority. Had his resignation been accepted prior to the election, there is always the possibility that more people would have run due to the fact there would have been two seats at stake instead of one. Therefore, nominations should be accepted for the seat and either an election, or preference poll taken. The AB should then fill the seat with the CCs' cho

5. [USGenWeb-SW] DOMAIN.FOR SALE.....SCHNEIDERS? [1]
I need some help please---------- The topic of buying the domain from " the Schneiders " is new to me- I do recall that there was someone named Doc Schneider associated with the USGENWEB Project- his title and history escape me.......I have stayed within the safe confines of the CAGEN web for years............:-) Can we get a brief summary on what is happening please. Questions I have: Just what are the Schneiders selling-what domain name exactly? for how much-----? Did they buy/obtain the domain for re
6. [USGenWeb-SW] Jeesh..... [1]
Hi all, Not even out the door and I am flat on my face already.... Even though I am happy to thank LaRae Halsey-Brooks & Kenneth Thomas for the part they played in representing our region in the Election, they are *not* outgoing SW/SC CC Reps. It is to Barbara Dore that our collective thanks and appreciation needs to go! I knew that! Chalk it up to "new electee jitters..." I am counting on you guys to keep me in line - please be gentle, God is not finished with me yet??? Jana
7. Re: [USGenWeb-SW] [BOARD-L] Southwest/South Central CC RepReplacement (fwd) [1]
Hi Carolyn, I don't know how many folks here want to share ideas and get to know what is going on with other projects, but I am hoping there are a good many. We have a been a fairly silent group thus far, however. USGENWEB-DISCUSS is also a good list for this, so you might want to subscribe to it. But it is to be strictly non-political. While this list is not limited to political issues by any means, it's the only one I'm subscribed to which allows political topics but hopefully doesn't allowed unlimit

9. [USGenWeb-SW] Introducing myself.... [1]
Hello everyone, If you happen to get this message twice, it is my fault and I apologize in advance... fumble fingers at work :) I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for putting me into a position to represent you. I also want to thank our outgoing reps, LaRae Halsey-Brooks & Kenneth Thomas for the job they have done in all our names. I feel a bit daunted by the company I will be keeping on the Board, but also know that everyone really cares about the Project, so I feel very flattered to have
10. RE: [USGenWeb-SW] Your opinion [1]
I've repeated portions of the questions asked by Teresa: 1. Should the Board direct the EC to conduct an election to choose Ken's successor? I believe the first choice should be to appoint the runner-up from the last election. Should that not be a valid choice, an election should be held. 2. If the Board holds an election, should the candidates include only the three runners-up from the just completed election, or should the Board solicit for nominees? I think a solicitation for nominees, to includ

12. [USGenWeb-SW] Back in the day [1]
When Ken resigned, on July 1, this was Tim Stowell's idea: "Regarding Ken's further participation with the Project, the Board or his Texas counties - his wife would like to see him continue with his participation. From what I'm gathering from what Richard has said, Ken doesn't feel this way at this time. I'd like to ask though that you please give him more time to re-consider his status. If he definately says no way, then the process of replacement can begin or if we've heard nothing one way or the othe

14. Re: [USGenWeb-SW] DOMAIN.FOR SALE.....SCHNEIDERS? [1]
Considering the answers Teresa has provided, and knowing nothing more than the information below- I offer my opinion and suggestions: I don't like the facts or the tactics being offered by the current domain "lease" holders(the Schneiders) - I believe that whatever money was spent by any individuals for providing the domain for the use of the project should be reimbursed for any money that individual (s) have spent over the years to keep the domain active and no further compensation be given to them- _H
15. Re: [USGenWeb-SW] Your opinion [1]
The process that makes the most sense to me is that the board make an appointment of the first runner-up for that position from our just completed election if he/she is willing to serve. If there are no runners-up who are willing to serve, then ask for new candidates and have an election for the position. An appointment should not be made for someone who did not run in the past election. I am Patricia SummersSmith USGW Lincoln Co. MO Co-Coordinator (in USGenWeb-SW) --- merope wrot

17. Re: [USGenWeb-SW] Domain For Sale [1]
John Any time something carries a threat, no matter how subtle it is....it is not something to just let pass over. Some people may be able to see varying degrees of right, or wrong.......but I do not take threats lightly. Let them sell their domain for a porno site. It won't take people very long to learn that isn't where they want to be. No, it is not a crime for them to sell their domain. Where the wrong comes in is in the threat. They didn't have to do that. I'm sorry that neither of them has a j

19. [USGenWeb-SW] Re: [BOARD-L] Southwest/Southcentral CC Rep Ken Short [1]
Ken's resignation was not announced on Board-L. I knew that he had resigned all positions with TXGenWeb on July 1, because he posted it to txgen-l, but I did not see where he resigned from the board. If the board has not accepted his resignation, then you don't have a vacancy to fill. At least vote on it on Board-l, the way you do for others that have resigned. IF the Schneiders had told the AB that they are going to sell the .com domain; that they think that a fair price for it is $2500, but that figure is negotiable; and that the Project has until October 16 to let them know.....that would have been respectful. BUT, they also added (paraphrasing) or we will sell it to the highest bidder, not excluding the possibility of it becoming a porno site. 25. [USGenWeb-SW] Congratulations. [1]
I, too, would like to express my appreciation to all of the voting members and candidates that have participated in this election. I offer my congratulations to those candidates who have won their place on the Advisory Board. The hours spent by the Election Committee volunteers has resulted in a professional and well run election, my special thanks to all of you. Larry Stephens, gentleman that he is, has provided us with time and space on his server and I'm quite sure many hours of his own personal time
