1. Re: [UT-GHOSTTOWNS] Thompson Junction & Black Wells? [1]
There is a Thompson Springs east of Green River, might this be the Thompson you're looking for? 3. [UT-GHOSTTOWNS] From List Mom Regarding The Annual "Influx" of "Newbies" [1]
Dear List Members, It is that time of year again when we suddenly will have an influx of new online genealogy enthusiasts with their holiday gift computers that are usually newer and faster than what many of the rest of us have. For a great many of them, it will be their first time online. Some of them will make mistakes and some may (will) unintentionally do things and write things that may be irritating to us and against what we have set up as our list rules. Please take this into consideration in a

It appears there is a ghost town by the name of Thompson's Settlement in Weber County. From my map, I can't tell exactly where it was, but it is south and east of Ogden -- probably very near South Ogden. There were trains in that area. If you don't get a reply from this list, you might want to send a query to the Weber County list. Good luck! 5. [UT-GHOSTTOWNS] Re: UT-GHOSTTOWNS-D Digest V00 #2 [1]
Chris, As maralta@juno.com mentioned, your Thompson Junction may be (and probably is) the Thompsons in Grand Co. It was a railroad end-of-the-line- construction camp, and is still an active Amtrak stop, although the "town" is nearly dead. It was on the main Denver & Rio Grande rail line, and a small spur called the Ballard & Thompson Railroad ran to the coal mining camp of Sego, about 5 miles to the north. This was in the 1910-about 1950 time frame. So for about 50 years Thompsons was a busy rai
6. [UT-GHOSTTOWNS] Thompson Junction & Black Wells? [1]
A family member has memories (this would be a while back) of taking part in a cattle drive where the end of the drive was the train at Thompson Junction, Utah. He then wandered a bit north to Black Wells. I can't find either of these places. Any ideas where they are? Thanks! Chris
