Could someone please tell me where I would find old records for Old Promitory
Point.
My great grandmother lived on a ranch near there in about 1860-1890. Her
maiden name was Hatch and she married a Canfield.
Thank you

Hi Marcena, I see that you're researching Canfield's in Utah. I have a cousin who's related to them through Esther Canfield who married Jacob Truman Hunt. Jacob is my gg grandmother's brother (Rhoda Elizabeth Hunt). You can get of Don at: donald@dcdi.net If you can't get a hold of him, just let me know and I'll send you more e-mail addresses.

Hi Marcena,
I just returned from being out of town and don't know whether you have
received any responses to your request or not. What records have you
already consulted? Have you searched FamilySearch.org? I would suggest
that as a good place to begin.
Just out of curiosity, I did a lookup in the 1880 census for Utah
(available on FamilySearch.org) for the county of Box Elder and the
surname of CANFIELD and found this response:
Census Place
Promontory, Box Elder, Utah

The following list of people are listed in Dr. CANTWELL's probate file
as owing money on account for services rendered prior to his death in
1896.
I have NO further information on these individuals and I require NO
further information on these individuals. I thought this information
might be interesting or useful to fellow researchers.
The information is transcribed as listed in the file. Questionable
entries are marked with a "?".

Hi List,
Please take a moment and have a look at the picture of this WW2 Sailor - do
you know who he is?
http://gallerychristine.photoblog.co.uk
He 'may' have served on the USS CHICAGO or the USS HELENA.
He may have been a friend of Mack GALLIMORE from Denton, NC, who served on
both these ships, up to when the ships were sunk.
I would like to send the original picture to his surviving family.
Any information/ideas/assistance would be most welcomed!
Regards,
Christine

Hi list,
I am searching for descendants of my grandfather's eldest brother Thomas John
ROWLEY.
He was born Nov 25 1865 at St Clements Dane, Westminster, London, the eldest
son of Frederick Henry ROWLEY and Rachel Adelaide YOUNG. He was still in the
UK in 1881 as I found him on the census, but from the LDS website, I found
that he was married in Ogden, Weber county, Utah on Nov 25 1895 to Olufine
Marie ABRAHAMSEN who was born Jul 29 1870 in Larvik, Vestfold, Norway.
They had 6 children that I know of.
Hi everyone, I have been asked to forward this message to this list.
Thank you

Peter,
It looks like I've found one of your cousins :-)
I talked (through an intermediary) with the wife of Thomas John II, who is
now living in a rest home. She recognized the names of Thomas' siblings.
She gave me the name of her son, who she said is interested in genealogy.
There was no answer at his home ... I'll try again later. He's probably at
work right now.
After I reach him, I'll contact you privately.

Hi,
I'm looking for a birth of a child Sarah A. Horrax in 1862 or thereabouts.
The birthplace recorded for her on the English census of 1871 is America,
Salt Lake, and family oral tradition has it that she was born in a covered
wagon.
Can anyone tell me where to start looking for her birth registration - was
there registration in the US at that time?
Answer at your peril, I'll only badger you with more questions!!
