Rachel Booker and Prudence are on the Freedmen's Bureau records. I don't know if they ever lived in Texas, though anything is possible. I strongly believe they both died in Richmond, VA. Southerners usually liked to end their lives wherever their roots were.

I have second cousins on my maternal side who are Bookers and reside in Cumberland County, Virginia. There are many Bookers in this area (Black and White). May I suggest that you look in this area for your research. Good luck.

Hi Everyone,
PLEASE NOTE ALL RESPONSES TO QUESTION ARE IN CAPS.
Below are the questions asked on the Miller Applications I have sent you info on in the Freedmen Project work. I hope to get at least two a week submitted.
For those of you who cannot afford these NARA applications, I would advise that after you confirm it is your line, that you send for the packet, for source proof. Remember geneology is nothing without documentation.
