The McCARTNEYs I seek, unfortunately, moved around a good deal. They
were in Rockingham, Rockbridge, Augusta, Botetourt, and Craig Counties!
But in 1880, one Easter E. McCARTNEY, listed as the daughter-in-law
of a John J. HILEMAN catches my particular eye. I know this
connects, and yet I have no idea who Easter was.
Here is the 1880. Can you find 1850? Thanks! Vince Summers

This fellow was county clerk in Craig (until at least 1927). Here
is some data to help you find him, if you will be so kind...
"Mr. Ferrel was born on the old family homestead near Craig Healing
Springs, twelve miles west of New Castle, in Craig County, Virginia,
August 29, 1881, the eldest in a family of seven children born to
Lloyd P. and Mary A. (Ruble) Ferrel."

There are 51 Ida Davis' in the 1930 index in VA. There are 33 Catherine's

I would like to request a Census lookup for the household of George W. Sellers for the 1910 Augusta County, Virginia, Census. He was 38 years old and was likely in the "Pastures District".
Thanks in advance!

That's great, Dana! Thank you. No kids. Hmmm. Maybe they just
never had any. I'd say they did, though, at some point. I'm not sure
of that, but it's my guess they had.
I will enter the data in my FTM file. Thanks again - this is a great
find.

Requesting a lookup for the household of Green B. Fadeley from the 1900 Plains District Rockingham County Census. Both the dwelling and family number listed is possibly #70. Should be listed with wife Charlotte along with 7 children.
Thanks in advance for your effort!

I tried to find Charles Hamlin in the 1880 census. It is indexed by all
members of the family. Since he was 45 in the 1920, I figured he would be
4,5, or 6. The only Charles in the 1880 in that age range is the following.
He is listed as black and the 45 year old is white. Did you know the 1880
is online at the LDS site for free? Just type familysearch.org into any
search engine.
