In order to find someone in a census index, would need the head of house.
Do you have the parents name?

Robert Benjamin Ellis, b. 1873 [ELLISE in 1880 census] , was the son of
Boland/Bolden/Bolen and Donna C. Delk Ellis, lived in Isle of Wight Co.,
until after his marriage in 1906 and then in Surry Co.
Thanks for your help.

I am trying to locate the family of Robert A. Miles born March 7,
1821. I think his father was John and his mother was Sarah Howard.
I don't know the county they might be in. Is there any way that
someone might be able to locate the Miles family please in census up
to 1840. I think after that Robert moved to MO.
Thanks for any help!
M. Greer
Here is Lucian in the 1930. He wasn't living at home. Jesse and Grafton

I am searching for David Aaron Armentrout on 1850 Census in Rockingham
County. He would have been about 41 years of age and his wife, Pheobe,
about 35 years of age. Children were Joseph, John, William, John H.,
David Aaron, Mary, Matilda and Susannah. There is a slight possibility
that the surname was still being spelled as Ermentraudt. Any info at
all will be much appreciated. Thanks!
Karen

Here are all the Carters in Clarke Co, in the 1850. The James listed is 18,
working as a laborer, living with another family, not his parents. Possibly
your James, since he didn't marry until later. One of the others below
could be the parents of James. Do you know any siblings, that would help to
find the parents? To find parents, you need to go backwards from what you
already have. The 1890 or 1900 won't give you his parents. There are only
7 other Carter families in the 1850. See below:
Cart
