Francis HAGAN is buried in the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic cemetery, Frederick, Maryland. His headstone shows a birth date of June 6, 1763 but it does not indicate where. One line of my family tells the story that our first Hagan to come to the U.S. was Patrick Hagan. Patrick was a ship captain and either the father or grandfather of Francis. Allegedly Patrick arrived in Charleston and migrated north after he retired from the sea. Records of Maryland have been searched but no mention

ABEL ASHBY was born October 09, 1787 in Ft. Ashby, Maryland or in Virginia (Not sure), and died May 09, 1846 in Warren Township, Ohio. He married HARRIET CONOWAY ASHBY November 28, 1811 in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of GEORGE HAMMOND and DEBORAH HUTTON. (I have a suspicion that Harriet is the daughter of Charles Conaway, I am assuming that the Hammond reference was an error.) I am searching for the parents of my greatgrandfather Thomas Coon. In his Bible it is written that he was born in Prince William County, Va. in Feb. 1842. I have found him in Laurel, Maryland in 1863 through a marraige to Georgianna Chalk. Later he remarried Margaret Disney in Maryland also.
