I have made some progress since the last post thanks to newly found
relatives; however, we are STILL stuck trying to find out who the father is
of my great grandfather, Henry Clay Hartless, born 1860, died in 1939 in
Amherst County. Apparently his mother was Mary Louise Hartless. Any help at
all is appreciated.
Many thanks,

Can anyone tell me where I can find good maps of Virginia during the 1700's
with all the county changes that occurred during that time? Is there a book
you can refer me to or a website that would have this??? Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi, I am interested in Amherst Co. also. The 1850 census gives this reference
to Henry Franklin:
Henry Franklin, age 65, farmer. Jane (may be second? wife), age 55;
Arther, age 24; Benjamin, age 25; Abner, age 20; Ann, age 22; and John age
10.
Hope this is helpful. I am researching Fulcher. If you should stumble
upon anything, I would love to have it. Also, remember that Amherst Co. did
not come into existence until the 1760s. Henry's father may have been from
Flauvanna or Caroline Counties.

Dear all,
I am researching the PAGE and PUGH families and, by association the FREDERICK family of Nelson, Amherst, and Bedford Co., VA. I have a Joseph and Frances PAGE who were born in VA and who, family tradition says, came to KY in Dec. of 1817.
There was a Joseph Page who was on the tax lists in Amherst Co., VA from 1803 (when my Joseph would have been 20 years old) until 1807. Later, he shows up on Nelson Co. list in 1811 (which likely was the part of Amherst that became Nelson). A J. PAGE and F.
Does anyone know if either Rootsweb or Cyndislist has a list of American
Revolutionary War Soldiers, those who either survived or were killed in
action? Please send the URL.
