1. [VAAPPOMA-L] Listowner post [1]
Hello subscribers, I hope you all had a nice holiday, and that all will have a happy new year (century, millenium, whatever...) as well. I wanted to let you know that I have created a mailing list support page for VAAPPOMA, which is located at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~mdtaffet/vaappoma_list.htm Please help me add to it. My e-mail will be unavailable from today (12/30) at 5:00 p.m. until approximately 1/04, but I should get any messages sent to me at that time. -- Mary Taffet mdtaffet@syr.ed
2. [VAAPPOMA-L] New Virus received from this list [1]
I just got that new virus that's haunting rootsweb lists from someone on this list. It showed up as an attachment for a program called PANTHER.EXE. Please run FIND on your Windows startup bar for a file named panther.* Delete it immediately if you find it (don't forget to empty your recycle bin). I just bought and installed McAfee within the past week and it did NOT find this one. Someone on this list has this and is spreading it without knowing it. 3. [VAAPPOMA-L] New Appomattox Page [1]
Lori, your new website is great! I found a couple of people I've been looking for in the cemetery listing. Thanks for all your hard work. I have an article I wrote about an Appomattox family who suffered great loss in the Civil War. Would you be interested in posting it? Merry Christmas! Libbie
4. [VAAPPOMA-L] Will of Thomas Frankling/Edmund Franklin [1]
Does anyone have information on the Will of Thomas FRANKLING, dated March 31, 1727. Names his children as: Thomas, Ann Lax, Edmund and John? I need to know what county this was in. Also, does anyone have an "Edmund Franklin/Frankling" mentioned in any wills? Please advise. Thanks. Anna - Phoenix, AZ - USA * * Wild Wild West * * annaw4@prodigy.net
5. [VAAPPOMA-L] New Appomattox Page [1]
I have worked to transcribe my great aunt's books she wrote and left to us. She has nicely documented some Appomattox History, I hope that you agree with me. I have put it into a web page on ALHN recently at http://www.usgennet.org/~alhnwvus/App/Appom.html Best regards, Lori West Virginia State Coordinator, American Local History Network http://www.usgennet.org/~alhnwvus/index.html Appomattox County, Virginia Coordinator, American Local History Network http://www.usgennet.org/~alhnwvus/App/Appom.html

7. Re: [VAAPPOMA-L] New Virus received from this list [1]
Libbie, As listowner, I received one as well. However, there is no way to know whether it came from someone on this list or not. The best advice I can give you is to take a look at the FAQ that Tim Pierce from Rootsweb put together: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/virus1.html I received one of these that said VAAPPOMA in it. Now I see that Libbie did as well. Please, the rest of you, DO NOT open any message that appears to be connected and includes an attachment. Please rest assured that this DID NOT
