1. [VACALEXA] Re: REYNOLDS in Alexandria, 19c and before [1]
Hi, Karen, Like you, I have a question for Bobby Reynolds about when his REYNOLDS first appeared in Alexandria. I've got REYNOLDS at the same time as yours; could there be any connection? Rebecca Reynolds b. 8 Aug 1791 m. John HIGDON Jr. in Feb 1816 in Alexandria. She died there in Feb 1867. Rebecca was the daughter of William REYNOLDS and Hannah JAMES. I have some information on her siblings, as well as children, and a small amount on her parents. They may have been from Westmoreland Co., but this

20. [VACALEXA] PLEASE HELP [1]
I am new to this list and needs some real help. Until yesterday I was wondering if my great grandmother was an alien from Mars or some unknown galaxy. Seriously I knew she was but from documentation I have received she was born in four different states and in three decades. New found information had my great grandmother ELLEN F. FORD being born May 1856 in Virginia. Now that I know she didn't just pop into this world or come on a flying saucer I am looking for information on her family, parents, and
21. [VACALEXA] Re:Odelton /any one of the name? [1]
Has anyone on the list "ever" seen any records which mention the surname or given name of Odelton? this seems to be one of thse families that has completely died out. There was a Maria Odelton who md in Alexandria, Va. in 1826 or so and a Cawood was the bondsman. Both names figure in my lines of Hoskins, Tennyson and Mankins. I have recently found an Odelton Court listed in Laurel Md. so I am encouraged that the name has come down through someone, at least in Laurel, Md. any suggestions appreciated

SUCCESS! On behalf of the Friends of Freedmen's Cemetery, I would like to thank all of you who supported---through letters, emails, faxes and phone calls---our proposal to restore Freedmen's Cemetery with federal mitigation funds from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project. Yesterday, the Alexandria City Council made a verbal commitment to pursuing the buy-out and demolition of the commercial properties which now stand on the cemetery with a small portion of the cost savings from the downscaling of an "Urban
