Hello fellow researchers,
I have recently seen several new subscribers to the list and
since it has been a couple of months since I have inquired I thought
it might be worth repeating. Maybe someone new knows of this
Green family.
I am still searching for one Nathaniel/Nathan Green. His
obit says he was born in Virginia in 1822. Family Traditions tells
me our Greens came from England to Alexandria, Virginia One
record I found named Nathan's parents as James Green and Jan???

Am very grateful for the 1850 info.
NOw I found on the Int`l Gen.index a Catherine Hoskins (country part) I think
the date was 1847; would some one know what that date is derived from; was
there a special census of some kind?
And while I`m at it what did "one bucket" and "2 buckets" refer to on one of
the city censuses I looked at about 1810 of Alexandria? I have an idea it had
to do with sewage or garbage; what do you say?

For Sue in AL,
What cemetaries have you checked so far? The oldest cemetaries in Alexandria
are probably St. Mary's Catholic Cemetary and the cemetary at Christ Church (
not to be confused with Christ Church Cemetary).
