While in Richmond, VA recently doing some research on the name HIGGINS and

good luck) it listed a young man at the age of 14 named Alfred FERGUSON. He
was listed as the brother-in-law to my g-grandfather and that is how I

Found a John Oten in the 1799 Alexandria City census and am wondering if he is
the John Oldton mentioned in a petition for the Alexandria City Library 1799.
Any suggestions about this surname or family; they appeared on the records and
then seem to have disappeared completely Could it also be the same as the
name Odelton?
Thanks Sue in Al,
