Hi All, While in Richmond, VA recently doing some research on the name HIGGINS and WILKINS, I discovered a new family surname. The surname is Ferguson. I was reviewing the 1900 census on my great-grandparents Joseph and Nettie WILKINS (it was listed as WILKINSON in the census) when by accident (yet a stroke of good luck) it listed a young man at the age of 14 named Alfred FERGUSON. Found a John Oten in the 1799 Alexandria City census and am wondering if he is the John Oldton mentioned in a petition for the Alexandria City Library 1799. When I was in Richmond, VA last June I found a new family surname FERGUSON and discover who my g-g-grandparents were on my mother's side of the family.
