Hi Steffy,
As far as I know none of my Clark women married a Crossman...sorry. Your man is not buried in the same plot as my Clarks, but that doesn't mean there is not a connection. If you find out the name of Clark Crossman's mother please write me.
Thanks,

Just a guess here, but because of the date being so early, perhaps the Scotland reference was to the town. It is across the James River from Williamsburg. It is in Surry Co.

Hi, I notice that your query was posted some time ago. If you are still looking for information on this estate, I am researching my Fairfax County families and have occasion to be in the Fairfax County Court House Archives Room several times a month and would be glad to see if there is anything about it there.

Hi, I'm not a big Civil War buff, but I believe that "hill" as in Munson Hill, Mason Hill, Upton Hill, etc., were just that, hills throughtout an area that were high enough to allow armies that were fighting, a view of the surrounding areas and the opposing armies movement. They named each particular hill as to whos la

George MILLER was married before Anna and had a son whom married into a WILLIAMS

I am not having any luck finding George Miller with first wife whom I believe to be
named Mary.
I find George and his 2nd wife Anna listed on the 1850 census in VA.
I am researching the WILLIAMS family and find Leo MILLER with his wife

Hello,
Looking at a 1790 Fairfax Census record, I see a John GIBSON - quite a large
slave holder (one of the larger). Who is this John Gibson, a wife's name?
any information
welcome. I believe he attaches to my family but a mystery?
John Gibson paid the taxes on property belonging to Lewis Samuel Pritchartt
(100 acres). Looking at a map of 1760, I see John Gibson owning land just
near Loudoun County, Fairfax County Line. Checking random data, I see a John

I'd like to second that motion. This list was set up to discuss Fairfax
COUNTY research, not the Fairfax family. Rootsweb sponsors a Fairfax FAMILY
list -- join by sending a message with "subscribe" in the body to
FAIRFAX-L-request@rootsweb.com. Any posts about people with the surname
Fairfax, or collateral relations of the Fairfaxes, or public responses to
private e-mails from people who are researching Fairfaxes, should go to that
list. Not here.
