Falls Church By Fence and Fireside was published in 1964 and a copy is in both the Falls Church and Alexandria library on Queen Street. this i found on in the google search engine and also another lister supplied the author Falls Church: By Fence and Fireside, by Melvin Lee Steadman, Jr., printed in 1964 (Fairfax Co, VA? - Trammells; Wests; others). his genealogy is online also-check it out http://www.tqsi.com/gen

The book is by Melvin Steadman and I believe the title was By Hearth and Fireside, but my memory is shorter than I am on the correct title. I feel certain you can find it by the author's name. I was wondering if anyone out there was researching the TURNER family in Alexandria, Virginia. Specifically, the information that I have so far is: John M. Turner born 21 June 1797 in Alexandria.
