7. [VAFREDER] Jost Hite, Chrisman [1]
Hi Dave, Historical Records of Old Frederick and Hampshire County by Wilmer Kerns makes reference to Jost Hite the settler, it makes reference to his mill close to the Springdale Mill just south og Winchester, Va. and could be listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Are you familiar with the book. He lists several Hites, Chrisman. There is also a woman doing Chrisman history, Mrs. Ethel F. Chambers, 150 Forest Avenue, Seaman, Ohio 45679. You might want to contact her also. Hope this helps. Ren

10. Re: [VAFREDER] Elias Long family search reply [1]
Hi Linda, Thank you for your reply. Your info on the LONGs is surprising. I didn't know there were that many in the area. I know Elias had at least two siblings but don't know the names. Interesting that LONG and LAING were confused. I also have seen Elias misspelled as Ellis. Thank you for the LDS film number and census details. I'm a bit surprised that Elias/Ellis shows up in the 1820 VA Census 'cause according to my info he was in Jackson, OH by that time. I'll have to dig a bit deeper. I'll ha

13. [VAFREDER] Elias LONG and Barbara CORRELL, 1800s [1]
Hi Everyone, I'm searching for info on Elias LONG (b. 1776 in Philadelphia, PA) and wife, Barbara CORRELL (native of Rockingham Co., VA). The info I have shows Elias moving to Frederick Co. "when verging on manhood." Their first child Andrew was born in 1810, probably in Frederick Co.. The Longs moved to Chillicothe, OH, probably shortly after Andrew's birth, finally settling in Jackson, OH, where Elias died in 1860. I also have unconfirmed info on Elias' father which shows him to be Elias, Sr., a nati

17. [VAFREDER] Elias Long family search reply [1]
Hello everyone and in particular Debbie, You wrote (as shown below) asking about Elias Long and his family. I have recorded some Long information in Frederick County as a potential misspelling of LAING the name I am researching. In this I located an Ellis (or maybe it was Elias) Long in Personal Property tax books for 1782-1807 available on Film2024544 from LDS (in particular it was 1803-1805.) I have also seen Conrad and John listed as Long and as Lang in that time range. In the Story of Winchest
