Hello List, I am researching the SWISHER family history. Our earliest ancestor so far is Jacob R. SWISHER (1785-1858) born in Frederick Co VA, near Winchester, and died in Marion Co (W)VA. Drusilla MORGAN was b. 1788 in VA the 13th child of Col. Zackquill & Dorothy SPRINGER MORGAN. Our downline is through their son Jacob S. SWISHER (9/21/1824-4/13/1905) Jacob S. married and Elizabeth Jane [FLUHARTY or MORGAN?] ca 1849. Where has yet to be verified. The family history states that Jacob R. was orphaned

Hi! I am researching the family of George HELM b. 1726 d. 1769 in Winchester, Frederick, Va. He was buried in the Old Reformed Church Cemetery (Now Mount Hebron). His monument was inscribed in English on one side and German on the other. He and his wife, Dorothea, had a clothing shop on Cameron Street. Their only known child was George HELM, Jr. b. 1751 who married Catherine (maiden name unknown). George, Jr. served in the Revolution for 3 years in the Maryland Line. He left Frederick County about 179

Yes, the Geo Clevenger is the right one. It was the only one that I have, but I wanted to be certain that I had every one identified correctly. I am trying to figure out the connection between James Phlemister Clevenger named in 1849 in Nacodoches co, TX by George Clevenger and George C. Flemister named in 1849 in Frederick Co, VA by Joseph Flemister. A neat problem ! Right? Thanks a heap. Sorry, Sarah - the Flemister name does not appear in the Frederick Co. Va. Marriage book by Vogt and Kethley with the one exception of Mary to Enders. It does appear in Shenandoah Co. Va. marriages, however - James Flemister & Elizabeth Tipton, 29 Sep. 1813; bondsman, Christian Miller Lewis Flemisteer & Polly Clevinger, 18 Dec. 1818; borndsman, Geo.
