Just FYI. I tried to access the Confed. Pension Database with the url given and discovered a mistake. The one that works is: http://eagle.vsla.edu/conpen/virtua.html so take out the -basic in the other url. Also, you can search by last name or last and first. James Ward born in "Fincastle County" in 1758 enlisted in the Virginia Militia in July 1776 for a period of six months from Montgomery County, Virginia. This information is from his declaration for a revolution war pension in 1834. He lived until 1848 in the area of what is now Martin County Kentucky. Hi, To all who are researching Williams family in Pittsylvania Co. I am still trying to locate the parents of Smithin Williams who married Lucy Martin in Pittsylvania Co. Apr. 26,1837. Census has him listed as Smith and Smithson in Franklin Co. 1840 and Montgomery Co. in 1860. I am unable to locate his parents or his date of death. I have an ancestor who married in l793 in Montgomery Co VA. His name was William Severs (transcribed Levers in one list but the record appears to be Severs and the wife's name is right -Catherine Peck). He appears to be the same person as deserted the Hessian troops in July of l782 from Savanna GA awaiting return home after the Rev War was over- that name was Johannes Wilhelm Siebert. Both were thought to be born in l751/52. I have the exact DOB of the Hessian but am unable to find an exact DOB on the

He married Susan Virginia "Jenny" McNulty and had children of; Lucy Lee who married Matthew Taylor, a brother (s). He married second Mary. He died in Lowmoor, VA.
