found on the 1787 tax list for Montgomery Co. David has been ruled out as
his father by other researchers who are sure they have all

Is there a kind soul on the list that has access to the 1850 and/or 1860
census records for Grayson Co VA. I have a brick wall that needs
hurdling.
Thanks,

Do any of you have access to Grayson County marriage records? I need to
see if Richard Cole married a Sarah Poole before 1807. Calvin Howell
witnessed the will of William Cole in Grayson County in October 1807. John
Howell, Calvin Howell, and Richard Cole entered an indenture in White
County, TN in 1812 for about 160 acres.
I've also encountered evidence of a possible Loudon County VA connection
to my Montgomery/Grayson County Howells:
Timothy Howell who died in 1895 mentions a daughter, Jane Poole in

Hi Listfolks,
I am seeking information on my g-g grandfather, George W.
CHRISTIE/CHRISTY, born in Indiana. According to the Virginia 1870 census
index, he was living in the town of Blacksburg then. Does anyone out
there have access to the actual Montgomery County census, who would be
willing to do a lookup for me? He may have been married to his first
wife by then. Her name was Julia Ann Morgan, from Botetourt County, and
her parents were Charles and Eve Morgan. I would like to find out if

Thanks JB for the referral.
