In the 1760's, Montgomery was still a part of Augusta County. Unfortunately, marriage records in the Augusta courthouse only begin with 1785.
Chalkley's Chronicles, which is online at the Augusta County genweb site, lists some marriage bonds that were posted during years prior to 1785, but I checked the index and coul

I need advice on locating a record that might have been kept on a divorce in Montgomery Co., about 1857. Would it be the circuit court minutes book, or some other type of record book?
Thank you

Floyd County, Va. Courthouse has a very good complete set of marriage
records which include almost all of the Hylton's. You can also look for John
(1665) in New Kent, Virginia. I found marriage license/bonds, land records, and
with the help of many residents, even located the graves and got pictures of
tombstones.

I have several lines from your area or at least I think they are from
your area. They are Sufflebarger, Anderson, King and more. I think
this area may have become Pulaski Co. later.
I hope to find the name of Jacob Anderson's wife. I know her first name
is Drucilla because their tombstone is on our property in So. IL. I am
referring to the son of Jacob Anderson who married Christina Wysor from
Montgoemery Co. VA.
I would love to hear from anyone from these lines.

Phoebe,
In 1880 Berdine Akers on census in Montgomery county, VA with parents Daniel
and Ellen Akers. Berdine's brothers listed are Albert, Sparrell and sister
listed is Andelia.
It appears from census records that Daniel may be the son of William and
Lydia Akers.
I have copies of the 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1910 census images if you'd
like copies of them.
Let me know if this looks like its your Addison Berdine.
