Hi,
Does anyone have access to Barbara A Gertrude's abstract of wills,
letters of administration, letters of guardianship, of Schoharie County, New
York, from 1795-1863? There are copies in the DAR library and the Family
History Library in Salt Lake City. I would be interested in the Van Slyke
records if someone can do an easy lookup. Otherwise I will order the films
from Salt Lake City.

SEarching for information on Henry Van Slyke (Slyck). He was born 1819 in New
York and married Harriet Learned. They lived in Indiana. I believe his father
to be Cornelius Peter Van Slyke (b: 1790).
Would appreciate any additional information (siblings, death date, mother,
etc.)
Thank you!

Dear list,
Thought I would share this with you. I'm sure some have
already seen this will, but for those who haven't, I hope
it helps.

the year 1895." At the top of page 411 the heading reads,
"Abstracts of Wills -- Liber 18." (I'm not sure what this
reference is. Perhaps those more familiar could enlighten
us.) :-} In any case, this is the John Van Slyke who married
Lena Van Slyke.
It reads:

I am unable to resolve this discrepancy. My notes indicate that
George and Margaret married April 11, 1784, making it impossible
for him to have been born in 1789.

Help:::::::
My husband is a Van Slyke and I am having a terrible time trying to find
out who his ancestors are. This is what I know:
His father's name is Glen Warren Van Slyke, married to Ruther Lee West, His
grandfathers name is Clifford Van Slyke married to Hazel Roessler. His
great grandfather is Walter Van Slyke married to Ophelia, but don't know her
maiden name. That is all I have been able to find. If anyone knows more
please email me. I went through the Van Slyke surnames, SSI, Census

There is a family legend that we have Indian blood. This came from my
maternal grandmother's side. However, in my genealogical searching, I've run
into major brick walls on my mother's side. But then, lo and behold, on my
father's side I found the Van Slyke family and the possible connection to
Ots-Toch. My older brother is holding off buying his tom tom until I can
show him the line. There are two snags in it.
I have four documents to work with. The first I found was from Marsha Rivers

I am trying to find information on Ira VanSlyke - born November 1876. His
parents are William L. Van Slyke and Margaret Van Slyke (her maiden name is
VS also). I don't know anything else about him (death date, wife, children,
etc...) He was probably born in Abbeville, Louisiana. His sister, Neosha
VanSlyke Robinson, is my g-grandmother. I would appreciate any information
that anyone out there may have. He was the only male child born to these
parents -- the only one to carry on the VS name of this lin
Hi, I had made a query some time ago concerning Richard and Phoebe VS
from German Flatts, Herkimer Co. A girl by the name of Judi responded
and we exchanged some notes. I tried to contact her recently and she has
changed her email address. Am hoping she might get this message. Really
need to get up with her again.
If anyone else may have any info on Richard and Phoebe VS would love to
hear from them also. They were in the German Flatts area around the mid

Hi Darlene,
After a bit of time spent in the census records I found
your
Myrle, her parents and her Van Slyke grandparents. That was
enough for me to slot you into the research already done on
the Van Slyke family. :-)
Let's start with 1910 census. I previously told you I found

Dear Steve and Kay,
I was in Schenectady 2 years ago. Be sure and visit the local library, where they can help you.
You may be interested in my page on Hillitie Van Slyck. It has photos of places associated with the earliest period in Schenectady. She is a fascinating person in her own right: http://www.donparrish.com/AncestorHilletieVanOlinda.html
I'm on a slow connection in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan so I will close here.
Enjoy your trip, Don Parrish
