Jonathan J. Hunt did marry Eva May Hunt, but Eunice Van Tassel was his MOTHER, not one of his wives!! (His first wife was actually Augusta Louisa Kolz.)

The Samuel Vantassel (Van Tassel) who was born in Fishkill, Duchess County NY in 1813 and who died in Cumberland County, IL was the son of John Van Tassel and Margaret Phillips. Samuel's lineage through the 1400s can be found at www.familysearch.com (LDS site).

Lee Wayne Van Tassel of Burlingotn, Ks, died unexpectedly of a massive heart
attack, 25 Sept 2003 at the age of 54. He was the son of Truman Van Tassel. He
leaves a wife, Patty, four children, and 3 great-grandchildren.
His dad: Truman Lee Van Tassel died four days later in Phoenix, AZ. at the

I found an Abagail born 1844: married Martin Pierce of Timothy , IL. She was the daughter of Samuel Van Tassel. He was a farmer in Delaware County, Ohio. In 1840 he moved to Cumberland Couty, IL. Hope this helps.

I recently recieved photos of the headstones of Isaac Van Tassel 33rd NY
infantry 1821-1853, and wife Naomi Sampson.
Also found a homestead land grant registration of Isaac Van Tassel in
Michigin c 1870, the details I saved. He having died in Brookside MI,
this is very possibly him. There was a george VT who registered that
same day.
Still trying to confirm if he was the Isaac VT who signed the
Declaration of Sentiments, though his age and location fit, while the
other Isaacs do not seem, to fit as possibly
