3. [VERMONT] BARKER for Cora [1]
Here is some additional information found on www.familysearch.org on this family. I suggest that you use this information as only a tool/guide in helping you locate vital records (birth/marriage/death) to verify information for yourself. There is more information on these families at this site, but I do not have the time to search for all of it. All records are not totally accurate, but if you remove variables, such as dates and places, sometimes more information comes up. Note that some individuals ar

5. Re: [VERMONT] Re: TUNBRIDGE VT [1]
Harriet, If I were coming I-89 from the south I would take the SHARON exit, turn left at the end of the exit ramp and then right onto Rt 14 to S. Royalton and the right onto Rt 110 to Tunbridge. Coming from the North take the S. ROYALTON ( or maybe it says just ROYALTON, I never pay attention) exit. Turn left at the exit onto RT 107 and go about 1/2 mile and turn right onto Rt 14 ( you will be staring at Eaton's Sugarhouse, an excellent place to stop for breakfast) to S. Royalton, then left onto Rt 100 to

9. [VERMONT] Simon TAYLOR, 1778-1818, Newfane, VT [1]
Hello Everyone: I am on the trail of my gr. gr. gr. Grandfather Simon TAYLOR and his unfortunate wife, Cynthia BIRCHARD. Perhaps some researcher in Newfane, Vermont, or Dummerston, or Williamsville, has run across this couple and can elaborate on their sad story for me. Here is what I know: Simon TAYLOR, born 25 Jan 1778, was one of the sons of The Rev. Hezekiah TAYLOR (born 1748 in Grafton, Mass.) and his wife Sarah FROST, dau. of Amariah FROST and his wife Esther MESSINGER. Hezekiah TAYLOR, a graduat

11. Re: [VERMONT] THATCHER, John [1]
Having worked on the Thatcher line for many years, I can tell you that almost all of them originate from Anthony Thacher (Thatcher) and his nephew Thomas Thatcher who was the son of Rev Peter Thatcher, minister of St. Edmund's Parish, Salisbury, England. They arrived in Boston aboard the James in 1635. Anthony after losing his 5 children in a hurricane on Cape Ann, MA ,went to Cape Cod and remained there the rest of his life. He had 3 more children John born 1638, Judah, and Bethia. Thomas b. 1620 , in
12. Re: [VERMONT] Taylor, Foss [1]
There is a great website for Lowell at this URL: http://library.uml.edu/clh/index.Html I put the name Taylor in and got 121 hits. There are birth, death, marriage vital records and many people have put hard work into making this available to us. I have family who went from Chester, Vt to Lowell, then back to Vermont between 1878 and 1885. Michael Lucas and his wife Ann/Honora Coffee and their children. Some kind folks on this list gave me the 1880's census data with Michael and the kids living there

14. [VERMONT] Drew [1]
Natalie, > I am also researching the Drew family, mostly in Maine, but one > of them settled in northern VT. I actually have no proof that my Drew family was from Vermont. Jesse Drew was born in 1818 in Canada - possibly in Bolton. His death certificate in Michigan listed his parents as Enoch Drew and Nancy Reynolds. I found Nancy Reynolds married to Michael Drew in Franklin County, New York. Michael Drew is in the 1825 census in Bolton Township. There is an Enoch Drue in the 1790 Vermont census
15. Re: [VERMONT] Travel route question [1]
We traveled to Rutland in October. Being flat-landers from the Chicago area, we followed directions from Microsoft and got off the highway in Albany. Never again! I don't know what kind of roads 11 and 2 are, but personally, and especially with a trailer, I would stay on the interstate as long as possible, even if it takes you on a longer route. Annette

24. [VERMONT] DOANE buried in Shoreham [1]
Thank you for posting that. I do have the entry from that book & have corresponded with the author, Susan MacIntire. She says she got the Ames-Wright reference for the burial place of George Doane from a book of deaths in the Shoreham town clerk's office, and that the Ames Wright Cemetery is in the Richville section of Shoreham. The Doane Family Association has George & Fanny as buried in the Richville Cemetery. So I am confused as to whether this is the same cemetery that went by different names? Someo
