Thanks much. This is what I have so far. William Herbert (Billy) Via, Jr., b. 4/20/1863 in Rutherford, Gibson County, TN, d. before 1827. Married Virginia Adeline Killen on 6/11/1891. They had 2 children Marvin Lee (8/10/1892-8/23/1976) and Linnie (9/7/1897-6/28/1990). I did find the funeral records on Jennie Via which
William, I have a copy of the Via, Hughes, Turner,

it. Is this the right one? If it is I can e-mail you
a copy. Helen

William,
Maybe someone with more knowledge on this subject will respond to your query.
My impression is that some time has been spent trying to see if the two
families were related without any success.
It appears as though some of Daniel's granchildren went to Ohio. Elisha to

Good Evening!!!
Yes, that is what is in the book, but remember these stone are old and hard
to read. I discovered today that they had taken the birth of Algernon Tyree
Maupin and added the death of Algernon Tyree Maupin, II, 1927. They are
both buried there according to obit notices as well as the the wife and
mother. Why don't we check the 1910 census and see if she is on it.

Good Evening!!!
In Goodman's will he mentions his sister in law Nance Horsley and last wife
(one of two) Salle. Perhaps she was Sarah Elizabeth Horsley! Also the
location of the burial ground mention in his will that sets aside is given
by a researcher. Will says both wives are buried there so he owned the land
a long time. I will look for the grant for the land. We will see who lives
close and with the directions given by the researcher you will know the
location. Apparently Horsley Goodman died the

Greetings,
Interestly enough, my family records show that Nicholas Viar & Ann
Nichodemus were the progenetors to my GG-Grandfather, Charles Nicholas
Via(r). However, on Charles' wedding certificate & death certificate, it
lists his parents as "W & S Viar". This, too throws me for a loop. I did
find a copy of a wedding/marriage agreement between Nicholas & Ann dated May
16, 1844 which serves as a perfect date for Charles' 1850 D.O.B. I have also
never found any other person on this list related
I've copied the information down into a 134 page Microsoft Word document.
If anyone wants a copy please email me. Due to the size its not recommended
sending through VIA-L Rootsweb.

Good Evening!!!
Thank you Judy for the information. I knew of the "African-American" family in Gallia Co. A lady who did lookups on the marriages for me marked them "C" so I knew there was another family there. Only have two marriges marked "C" however, so I am sure the others I got online at Ancestry will have additonal members of that family.
Will pursue the female Viers who married in Gallia Co., tonight.

Good Evening, Group!!!
I have that Eliza Rodes b. 6-20-1762 d. 12-32-1832 married HorsleyGoodman
5-8-1783 her parents were David Rodes and Mary Mills and Mary Mills parents
were Matthew Mills and Mary Terrill. These families all lived just a few
miles east of White Hall. Judy, I believe the lady in Charlottesville you
had doing research worked on the Rodes land entries on Barracks Road. This
land is now owned by Wick McNeely, I think.
