5. [WADOUGLA-L] How to unsubscribe. [1]
Hello listers, It is time again to explain the procedure for unsubscribing, in case the instructions you received when you joined the list are lost. First of all, all requests to subscribe or unsubscribe go to an automated robot, not a human being. Humor, sarcasm, politeness, or rage are equally lost on a machine, and any extra words in your request (including your name or e-mail address) will probably cause it to fail. If you are currently receiving the standard list (individual messages) and
6. [WADOUGLA-L] Julius Betcher's sisters: Swenson and Bishop [1]

Neither are they buried with the Betchers who stayed in Greene County, Iowa. I know they were alive when their mother died in Iowa in 1905. Their married names are Amelia Swenson and Bertha Bishop. They were both born in Germany no later than 1868. I appreciate any help you can offer. David Oberstadt Gilroy, California

We currently have the following counties transcribed, proofed, and online for the 1860 Federal Census: Sawamish (now Mason), Island (incl. Snohomish), Whatcom (incl. San Juan and Skagit), Clallam, Kitsap, and Jefferson. This is being finished one county at a time, next will be Klickitat and Pacific. We also have the complete 1850 Federal Census of what is now Washington, then Clark and Le
15. Re: [WADOUGLA-L] :HOMESTEAD LAND; :Hello out there:, [1]
Hi Robert, Okanogan was the name of the original county seat (but never a town or much more than a couple of tents) in 1883. By 1885, it was out of existence, but the name lived on for another few years. It was located a few miles east of Waterville. There is no connection between this place and the Okanogan River, Okanogan County, or the town of Okanogan in that county. Douglas County land records are pretty sketchy before 1915, but research at the courthouse may turn up useful information. Good luck, Ke
16. Re: [WADOUGLA-L] WARNING - Happy 99 Virus [1]
Hi, I got the Happy 99 virus from a friend last Spring. I felt terrible when I pasted it on to a list. Don't feel bad there is not much you can do to prevent it aside from not opening the email that says Happy 99. It will not wipe out your hard drive. But it will get passed along if you don't destroy it. Someone sent me the software to get rid of it. If anyone needs it I can pass it on. Dear Patt, There are many Hedges who came into the Waterville area early on. My husband and these Hedges have a strong familial resemblance. We have tried to come up with some connection, but the only one so far is that both families are from the valley of the River Avon, about 20 miles apart. The Meyer family came from Germany in the 1840's, settled in Pennsylvania, then moved to Solon, Iowa, then to Mt. Angel Oregon, from there to PeEll Washington, and in 1901 to Ephrata, WA. They are related by marr
