Joan E,
Toronto, Canada
Hi Joan,
My gr grandfather was William W. EVANS, b. 29 April 1824. His wife was
Anne FRANCES, b. 17 Sept. 1832. They were both born in Wales. They
left Liverpool England, on the 'Euroclydon' in May 1864 bound for
Halifax, N.S. From there they seem to have gone directly to Gallia
County Ohio U.S.A. & then to Pomeroy, Meigs County, Ohio where they lived
& died.
They brought with them their 2 children, William E

Hi all
This is my first posting to the list, although I am on several others.
I am researching my surname ROBERTS. I believe it may originally be a welsh name. The earliest I can go back to is John ROBERT (note that the spelling was ROBERT not ROBERTS. That changed early 1800's). John married Janet CULLEN and were having children in Falkirk - Scotland by 1792. I don't know where John was born or any siblings or parents names.
Thought someone may be researching the same family.
All the best.

Hope you both had a good Christmas, and I wish you both a very
Happy New Year.
Carol, Sorry there's no more newspapers from me, or even from
Waltham Abbey and surrounding areas in Essex, nor from Aberdare in
Wales.
Take cake, all the best

Having confirmed from this end (over the pond) that my
great-great-grandmother was named Martha FOREHEAD (not sure about the
Harris) who had a daughter named Hannah Harris, I'd like to see if I can
find a census entry for the family. Hannah Harris's death certificate
(Hannah Harris ROBERTS) states her maiden name as Harris but it's not
real clear.
My mother, deceased, said that Hannah Harris was 'adopted.' Don't know
if she was born out of wedlock and then adopted by Mr. Forehead, or if

Hello All
As I plan to `unsubscribe' and to end the fruitless search for the specific
birthplace of my GGGrandfather James Lewis and my GGrandfather Thomas
William Davies, both of whom emigrated from Wales to Canada in the mid
1800s. As a final message, I beg your indulgence to say:
- To those who have put themselves out to assist me in my searches, I send
a huge `thank you' with deep appreciation.
- To those who have befriended me along the way and who have continued a
personal correspondence, you
