Hello to fellow Wales roots webbers
I am just wondering if anyone else is researching the Myers/Edwards families
that settled in South Wales from Somerset to exchange information.
My family settled in Cefn Cribbwr in the 1900's. My Grandfather, Idris
Edwards, was into amateur boxing around the 1930's and so any information on his
boxing matches would be great.
My great uncle Sidney Walter Myers (known as Walt) possibly was one of the
founders of the English Baptist Chapel on Cefn Cribbwr,

Monmouthshire in Wales.
There were many trading connections between Bristol, at the other end of
Gloucestershire, and the ports of South Wales, and almost certainly Welsh
people settled in Bristol, where an area near the docks was known as the
Welsh Back.
Many surnames of Welsh origin were very common in the Marcher Counties along
the English border with Wales.

I am looking for information on William and Hettie (or Hetty) Davies and their daughter Dorothy, all of Wrexham, North Wales during the late 1930s and possibly intothe early 1940's.William and Hettie were originally from Glamorganshire, South Wales and connected to the Llewellyn's and Davies's of Pontypridd. Dorothy could still be living.
If you have any information, please contact me.

Hello there,
I am on this list too, and can tell you that it is for the country of Wales.
If you want the surname Wales, then I should go back to the rootsweb lists
for surnames and choose from that list.
Hope this helps,

Hello
My anccestors lived in the County of Gloucestershire England in the early 1700's. The family always use to say they were Welsh. Was any part of the County of Gloucestershire ever included in Wales due to changes in Boundaries of Counties?
Thank you,
