I have never added my name to the warbride list - I came to Halifax as a

I came across this list of RCAF War Brides while doing research in the
Immigration Branch War Bride files from the National Archives. There is one
American, a Mrs. Warren headed to Kansas City. Does anybody recognize any of
these ladies' names? (The Question marks denote illegible text).

Dear Michelle,
Many thanks for this message. Although I knew of the DBE, I didn't have
their website address.
I am still working on my postgraduate studies on Australian WWII war brides
in the U.S., and in fact have just been upgraded from MA (Hons) to a PhD, so
am still very much involved with researching this fascinating topic.
I was in Washington DC for the last reunion of the WWII War Brides
Association in July 2004 which was wonderful. I regret that I won't be able
to be at the next reunion in Seatt
My grandmother, Florence Ethel Parry (maiden name Tamplin) came to Canada in
1946 on the Letitia. She was married to my Grandfather, William Edward
Parry, who was with the Canadian army but was a British citizen from
Liverpool. He had been living in Canada when the war broke out. William
met Florence while recovering from a war injury. I think she volunteered
with the Red Cross and he was one of the wounded soldiers that she had cared
for. Florence also came from Surrey and lived on Croft Lane until sh

Hi all Canadian War Brides and other interested persons!
You will be happy to know that Canada Post is issuing a commemorative
envelope in honour of the Canadian War Brides on May 8, 2005. I worked on
the project and have reviewed the mock ups . I can confirm that the envelope
is beautiful. The front of the envelope contains original archival
photographs of two Canadian War Brides, Olive Cochrane (mother of sister war
bride lister Michelle Rusk), and war bride Jean Spear of Ottawa, Ontario.

Hello Susan
My mother, Kathleen Easton (nee Hill) came over on the ship Letitia in
April, 1946. She was pregnant with me at the time and I was born in August. She
was a search light operator in the British army and was from northern England.
You are the first person I have heard from regarding the same ship. Where
are you located? I am in Brampton, ON. I would guess we would be about the
same age.
I have a postcard of the ship in a family album. My mother wanted to name

Hello Denise,
I know that you sent this message to the war brides mailing list a long time ago, but I was wondering if you ever found that pamphlet you were looking for. Also did you ever enter your mother's name to the Passenger list on my website.

If not I hope you will.

Pork Faggots are a meatball, which is made up basically from Pork liver

Hi List members,
I have added over 100 new names to the passenger list. I have also added a 'Lost' page at http://www.geocities.com/us_warbrides/AmWarBrides/lost.html
Please take a few minutes to view it. Any Australia War Brides will find the first request most interesting. Check out the cute man under Lost Father. John Wastle has a wonderful smile and is searching for his father.
Have a nice day!

Mylanda,
Sounds terrific. In fact I do collect stamps and special envelopes, so will
certainly aim to buy one of these. Will they be sold at Post Offices, of
do we have to order from the number you mentioned?

Hi, I've just got off the phone with Canada Post's philatelic center in
Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Wouldn't you know it, the woman who answered the
phone knows all about the war brides!!
You can indeed order the commemorative envelope at any time by phone or
mail. They are $2.50 CDN plus tax and the product number is #341714. Just
remember, they're only officially being "launched" on May 8, which is a
Sunday, so even if you order it before then, it won't be distributed any
time before May 8 I would ima
Hello,
My name is Alison Pringle. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I have just
joined this mailing list. I am searching for ANY information anyone may have
about my nana. In the last few months I have been very curious to find out
more about her and my papa. I wish I would have had more interest in the
past when they were still alive. My nana came to Canada from England, I
think she grew up in Yorkshire but am not certain. Her maiden name was Alice
Maude Taylor (I think that was her middle name)
Hi Linda et al.
Although I would like to take the credit for initiating the Commemorative
envelope, I cannot. Yes, I was involved in trying to get a war bride stamp a
couple of years ago, but we had no idea that our efforts had resulted in a
commemorative envelope (not a stamp). So I was as surprised as the next
person when I was contacted by Canada Post in September asking me to
participate in the commemorative envelope project. I worked as the subject
matter expert / consultant, gathering images f
