Sandy, I do not know if the other message went through or not, so here goes. I have Reeds that were in DeSoto MS. that migrated the same way your Wards did, only they went on into Arkansas. I would greatly appreciate it if you were able to see if there were any Reed families living near your Wards in DeSoto and Tate Counties through either the land patents or the census. My Wards came to Arkansas from Tn. Maybe your Wards could be another branch and we could connecte somehow. Pat

Pat, my name is William Hughes and I noticed your posting on the WARD family digest concerning your Wards that came to AR from TN. My ggrandfather John Ward (b. Feb 1842) came to AR from TN and can be found on the 1900 census in Lewis township (near Mansfield). Is there any connection?? Do you know where in TN they came from?? My e-mail is wrhughes@tva.com. Hello, I don't know where my J.F. Ward was born. The only info I was given was he was born 1812 in New York. I find it interesting that his wife, Nancy Martin, was born in Illinois too. Maybe we have a link. Sounds like maybe your Charles Ward and my John Ward could be brothers?! I don't know. Very interesting though. I hope we can find some kind of link. Denise

To all of those that replied to my TN.to Ar. Wards, I have no infromation on what part of TN. my James W. Ward came from. I pick him up in 1880 Petit Jean Township, Logan County, Arkansas. Some of his children were in the next household over. I believe that they may have moved to Yell County or some of the children later on. I would love to know where they went after that in order to see if I can find some cousins. Does anyone think maybe your Wards could connect to mine later on in Texas or somethi

Does anyone have any information on a Miles Ward? There is a chance, that he and my William Ward may have been related, possibly brothers. Miles was born 1790-1800 in N.C., and was married to a Linea "Linny" McLean. This time frame, would also fit my William Ward. Linea, had a sister Anna, who was married to a Jacob Pearson, and my William was married to a Clarissa Pearson, in 1835 in Fayette Co. Ga. They were in Fayette Co. Ga. at the same time period, they were there at least by 1830. Some have said

Inga, All I have on my John Ward was what I gathered from the census which only lists the state of birth. It also says his parents were born in TN. Wish I had more but until I can get deeper into the Ward line, that's about it. I guess I'm hoping that some straw clutching will luck out. These folks all married in Jackson Co, GA in the early 1800's. Anyone have any info on them? My Ward married in Jackson Co, GA in 1819. Sandra, Could you please look up your Wards in DeSoto MS. and in Tate Counties and see if they lived near any Reed families? My line of Wards came from TN. to Arkansas but my Reed line came the same way your Wards did to Arkansas. I am wondering if we can connect through a common branch somehow. Thanks, Pat

Ward born 12-16-1812 in New York. Married Nancy Jane Martin born 2-10-1829 in Illinois.
