I have recently taken over the Kings County NY GenWeb page (Brooklyn).
If your ancestors settled in or came through Brooklyn, you might want to
take a peek there. I am currently in the process of adding much
information to the page, but the basics are there right now.
Also, if you have a homepage with Brooklyn connections, I would be glad
to link your page to the Brooklyn Homepages section. Just go to the page
at http://community.webtv.net/shamrockroots/kingsny and click on the

Im trying to track a Nugent family who emigrated from Rathgormuck
Co.Waterford to Canada in the early 1800s.
The only information I have is that John Nugent (d.o.b. approx. 1850) a
brother of my greatgrandmother went to live with his fathers brother
(Christian name unknown) and family in Canada about 1867. John died
during
his first winter there. I have no idea where in Canada they lived.
Johns parents were Patrick Nugent (emigrated to Australia in 1867), and
Ellen O'Gorman (who never left Ireland).

On the 3rd of May 2001 the play 'Blackwater Angel' opens in the Abbey
Theatre in Dublin (the National Theatre of Ireland). The play was
written by Jim Nolan and tells the story of a famous 17th century healer
Valentine Greatrakes, known as 'The Stroker', who was born in Affane,
near Dungarvan. Willie Fraher (the curator of Dungarvan Museum) has
written the foreword for the play's programme. For more details on the

My great grandparents (the parents of my paternal grandmother) were Michael

including by Waterford Heritage Services, I cannot trace their date or place

Would anybody please be able to help me out with my CROTTY research?
My interest is Mary CROTTY (said to have been born Waterford Ireland) who
married James CONROY at Windsor NSW Australia on 8 April 1850. Witnesses to
the marriage were John CROTTY (who may have been her father) and Bridget
QUINNE.
Have come up against a brick wall with Mary as I cannot find a record of her
death etc. Mary may have been the daughter of a John Crotty who was tried
at Co Waterford and transported to NSW as a convict
Hello all,
This is the current status on my lists about this terrible virus going
around the mailing lists....
Waterford seems to be ok (maybe because it's been very quiet) - I
haven't gotten any messages back saying anyone on it is infected.
Shamrock -seems- to be clear right now.
Two more members of CountyCork have the virus , persons using the id
names TATUNK@worldnet.att.net and margaretallison in Australia. I will
be temporarily unsubbing them after this message until they are "clean".
Then they ca
Dennis Ahern of the TIARA site ( http://www.tiara.ie ) who knew John
personally, has set up an online condolence book for John Broderick

If John or his website ever helped you locate a place in Ireland, or
even if he didn't, you might want to consider leaving a message for his
family.
Feel free to pass that url on to any lists John was a member of (please
don't forward this message, just the url).

I know that Mary Arnold was born in Dungarvan around 1847, and got married and had a child there 20 years later in 1867. But there is no mention of any Arnolds in the 1856 Griffiths Valuation, any idea why ?
Also can anyone tell me if the parish of "St. Johns Without" of Waterford City was mainly Roman Catholic or Chruhc of Ireland ?
Many Thanks,
Mark Lloyd
