I have just paid a visit to the Waterford County Council site, and it is much improved.
Not only has it speeded up, but it did not crash on me half a dozen times. Also a lot of extra databases have been added.
Large numbers have been added to the death register, and the search engine also comes up with names of people who may have registered the death. However it appears there are a lot of names still to be listed.
There are also a lot more details of grave stone inscriptions and further grave yards and c
Dear Listers,
Can anyone give me any information about Carbally cemetery? There is a great possibility that I have family members buried there but the only information that I have is that it is in Waterford. I will greatly appreciate any information or suggestions as to how I can find this place.
Thanks,

Hi,
New to this list so posting my interest.
I'm looking for my GGFather Walter O'ROURKE who was born in Waterford in
about 1850. I don't know if it was Waterford itself or Co Waterford.
I know nothing about him until he left Ireland to study at the Kneller hall
school of military music before then being posted to Burma and India where
he spent the rest of his life.
He married an Amelia KELLY, also of Irish origin, but I'm pretty sure that
happened in Rangoon, Burma rather than Ireland.
Can anyone be
Can anyone tell me where Lyre, Lismore, Co Waterford was or is?
Know of any links to it? Searching for the William and Kate Prendergast
family, mid 1800's.
Thanks so much for your kindness.

Hi to all. We have added two very interesting articles to the museum site
www.dungarvanmuseum.org this week. Both cover the same subject matter. The
articles deal with the trial of the Fenian crew of the Jacmel (Erins Hope)
who landed at Helvic (outside Dungarvan) in an abortive attempt to stage a
rebellion against British rule.
A possible interesting postscript: At the moment we are researching whether
Augustine E. Costello one of the leading (and most impressive) Fenians in
the company is the same

Hello Everybody
My father Michael Joseph Croke was born 17th June 1918 Ballybricken
Waterford. His parents were Patrick Croke & Alice (Power). His parents were
dead before he married my mother. and my father died when I was little. It
is known that my dad had a sister, who was married and had two children, but
have no idea of her name. I know my father was virtually brought up by an
aunt & uncle named White. They lived at St Otterans Cemetery and had a
daughter called Statia. She married a Power and

I will be unsubbing next weekend as I head to you-know-where. I'll be back
home and online, about the 15th of June. If anyone tries to contact me
during the month I'm gone, all I can say is "Good luck". I have a feeling my
mailbox will quickly fill with Spam, and shut down, so I wouldn't advise it.
Contacting me either before I leave or after I return would probably be more
fruitful.

Hi To all on the list. I have recently seen some mentions of both the
Waterford County Council web site and the new County Library web site on
the list. It wasn't my intention to post any message on these sites as yet
but seeing as some list members have observed the changes I may as well
make a few comments. Firstly both of the sites are undergoing major
development. The council site will have a more user friendly interface that
will make it more easily read by the visually impaired and it should
