My great grandfather's brother was named Frank Thomas SCRIVEN. On 1 Jun
1892 in Fairbury, Jefferson, Nebraska, he married Grace WATSON. Her parents
were Samuel F. WATSON and Mary DEAL. On the 1900 Nebraska Census Grace
gives her birth as Feb 1877 and born in Illinois. From the 1880 Census the
ages of the children of Samuel and Mary indicate they were in Illinois
approximately 1875-1877. The big question is where in Illinois? This
WATSON family was large, so I keep hoping I will discover someone
I do not know about Major Watson, but I would be interested in the John
Watson who is mentioned. I am searching for the father of Edward Watson,
who was born in 1817. First-born son of Edward was John Watson, so I am
guessing his father MAY be John Watson as well. Death in 1819 would be a
good date for this family.

My original ancestors were supposedly from Scotland as well. The first three

James (my link). Their parents were reportedly Joseph & Sarah Watson, and
some have listed William Wattson as Joseph's father, though we have no
proof. I also have Campbell lines back to Scotland, but have found no
effective searching methods. My line for them is well documented, but
proving that my recent ancestors are really of that line with more than

If anyone has any info pertaining to Major Watson (also spelled as
Majour, Mager, Magers) I hope they will share with me. The person I am
searching for was a revolutionary soldier living in Georgia (Augusta

waiting for someone who is trying to obtain a copy of his will from
Augusta. This person also has a relationship to a John Watson who died
in 1819.
Thank you.

Yes indeed Anne, most of my Watson ancestors seem to have been generated in
quite a few towns & villages in Fife.
For some reason there is more genealogical internet activity via the
rootsweb place names such as
SCT-FIFE-L@rootsweb.com for example.
Do you know which area your John may have lived ?
