Hi
I know some of the states in the east did census 1n 1885, 1895, 1905.
You my be lucky and Missouri did the same. Check with L.D. S. records
find out if they do census on the 5 year intervals.
John
Thanks for the info. It looks like somehow there may have been a
relationship between William Webb and Pleasant Webb. The naming conventions
for the children is very similar too. If only I could
find the hook.

Hello Janet and All,
I know I'm running late on this, but it has been a long
summer for me.
Could someone please tell me what county this is in ?
I've been on a search for many yrs. now,
and it is to find a town called Whitehouse that my DH
grandfather was born in. I've looked all over the state
the family gave and so far nothing. I'm feeling it is NOT
that state after all. grrrrrrr ! I'm now ready to spread
my wings and fly in search of.
Just a long shot, but worth a try.
Thank you,
M
I am searching for an African American family by the name of James Madison
Webb married to Jannie Ora Johnson and living in Pulaski County, Arkansas in
1918 where the birth of their 15th child Earl Webb was born. Another child
was named Viola but that is all the info I have to start with. Anyone with
info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sharon

My connection back to Jonathan in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut is pretty

There seem to be too many Richard Webbs in the early 1600's
Does anyone have any proof of the early Connecticut Richard's connection to

There is a Whitehouse in eastern Kentucky, so maybe someone got their states
mixed up. I am not sure what county it lies within. I think it to be a
small place but can remember as a child going there with my parents to visit
friends on the fourth of July. It seems to me that it is in Johnson County,
KY. I would go to the Rootsweb, Johnson Co., Site and enquire, if I could
not find anything to support the Whitehouse, TN claim.

Good Morning, Bill,
I'm not sure wether it was wm. Webb
who came to America in 1585 or William
Micajah Webb who came to America with
4 sons and 2 more followed a little later.
My branch officially begins with
Wm. Warren Webb(11699-1783),Orange Co.,Va. Then it comes up the line
through John Vivion Webb, father of
Dr. Wm. C. Webb,MD,Dover,Mo., f/o
Walter Leslie Webb, f/o Mary Louise Webb Becken, m/o me.
What state do you live in? ANY children? I live in Ca., w/ my wife
and 2 pets, have 4 daughters
Mike,
There isn't an 1890 census. The original 1890 US census was destroyed in a
fire while in storage, I believe in Washington, in the early 1900's. I
don't remember the exact date off the top of my head. This was before
microfilm and only fragments exist today. Some groups have tried to
recreate it from other sources but that is spotty at best.
Many of us wish that fire had never happened.

When I get a minute I will copy and send you his obit, a couple pictures
that were in the paper and whatever else I have. He died close to us and I
collect all Webb in the area. Wonder why he came to PA? I found his SS#
but have forgotten where it was taken out - somewhere down south but not

I am working on a cover page for my Webb book, and I need a nice color
copy of our Webb family crest.
If any one has a copy, which you are willing to share with me, it would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jim Webb - Jacksonville, Florida
Jim, I thought of a solution to the question of which crest to use. If it
were me, I would incorporate several known Webb Crests on the coverpage, with a
notation that there is no definite Crest known to this Line of Webbs....So
that future generations of Webbs do no think that they have found the precise
Crest for their line.... Just a thought......Debbie
Just remember, what you have is not "the Webb Crest". It is simply the
crest of one person with the surname Webb. Theremay have well been
other crests belonging to others in the Webb line. The right to use
crests was bestowed by royalty on those who were knighted and there may
have been other knighted Webb's besides the one who used the crest you
have found a copy of. Which means it may well be the crest of an
ancestor of yours, maybe not, but it is not a "Webb Crest".
The right to use crests belonged

Wow!, I have certainly received a lot of e-mail on my request for a better
copy of the Webb Crest.
I have a copy of the Webb Crest, which came from the Internet and was on a
flag. It really is pretty neat compared to most that I have seen. The only
real drawback is a pale blue background, but it still looks good.
For those of you who would a nice color copy of the Webb Crest that is
compact and would make a great addition to your title page, I will be glad to
send you a copy in JPG format.
