Hello,
I'm having trouble with the parents of my Rose PRING. Her obituary says that
she was from an old Taunton family, but the census data gives her father as
being born in Chippenham, Wiltshire and her mother from Broadclyst, Devon.
Does anyone have access to the baptism records for Chippenham, Wiltshire?
I'm looking for a baptism of a Charles or James D. PRING/RING somewhere
between about 1853 and 1856.
Below are the census entries for 1881 and 1901. They are the only entries
that appear fo

For what it is worth in confirmation, I have clear records of the same two
great-grandparents being married twice; the two events being with 2-3 days of
each other; in Bath in May of 1814; once in the established church of St.
Swithins and again in the RC St. Johns the Evangelist.

I have a HALE in my family. William Hale of Staffordshire, from the mid
1800s. I don't really know much more than that. He was the first husband
of my grandmother Sara Jane Atkins Hale.

Hi all. I am currently researching my mother's family. My g g g g grandfather, John Joyce, was born in Aldbourne, Wilts and christened on 9th April, 1820 - the illegitimate son of one Mary Joyce ( spelled Joice in the parish register ). I know little about her - she may have been the daughter of John Joyce and Mary Brazier of Hungerford, but I have no conclusive proof that the Mary Joyce born to this couple is the same one.
John Joyce moved to Chilton Foliatt, where he became the village blacksmith. He is
Does anyone know why many parish registers and transcriptions are only available to 1812? On numerous occasions I have found that PRs are available beyond 1812 but are not included in some transcriptions and that on other occasions the PRs only seem to go up to 1812. Why 1812?

Hi Sara
My g3 grandmother was a SWEET and I'm wondering if there is a connection
with yours. In the 1851 Census for Banwell, her name is quoted as being
Billender, her age suggests she was born in 1804 and the birthplace is
quoted as being Ollard. I don't know of a place with this name, but it could
be a mis-spelling of Aller. She married William FOLLETT, probably in the
early 1830's, but I don't know exactly when and my g2 grandfather John
FOLLETT was born in 1840, the mother's name being quoted as Beland
The two families I am currently stuck on are:
HILL - I have Edmund and wife Mary Ann - both born c 1804 and from South Cerney (and surrounding villages)
PAYNE - George and wife Ann - both from Challow/Wantage in the late C19
If anyone has any info on these I would be more than delighted!

Hello all
for an update &/or reminder we have the following fiche if anyone needs a
look up or two( from these fiche only........)
We are also more than happy to do full IGI entry look ups from the fiche
below but please provide the full date and year for this.
Re Portsea/Portsmouth checking BMD 1/4 isn't enough as there were many many
entries & some 80+ churches for the area so a GRO index look would be needed
first by you to provide a date.
