Hi cousins, I have not posted in a long while (going back to school and all) so I will toss this 'new' info out and see if anyone has stumbled across any new possible leads. Since my last post I have received a 'book' by a distant cousin (which I appreciate more than he will ever, ever know!!) which fills out much info on 'my' John West - however, there is not much on his ancestors - much of the following info is directly from the book - some census records I have verified - however, since his family live

I have done some research on these families, although it has been a while. Robert Ivey, wife Elizabeth West Ivey and family moved from Lenoir County, NC to Baldwin County, GA in the mid-1810's. I believe that Joseph West and family joined them sometime in the 1820's. I do not believe that any other siblings of Elizabeth and Joseph moved to Georgia. A question to the folks researching the West/Ivy families that migrated from Craven County, North Carolina to Baldwin County, Georgia: Does anyone know approximately what year they migrated? I know of both Joseph West and family and Elizabeth West Ivy and family that migrated.....did any of John's other children migrate with these two? And lastly, so many of Joseph's children seemed to marry Stanley's....were these cousin's they were marrying? If my family belongs in this line, I certainly can't establish

To Alice West Ferguson, Alice my West relatives are from NC, Bladen County. When I started hunting my West relatives I pulled up the census. I knew they were from Gibson County Tn and NC, of course I knew my granddad's name but since he died when I was young I didn't know much more except his brothers name, but I started and went backwards. First my apologies to all. I have not felt well enough to get on line for awhile. I do not have the letter in front of me to type it word for word however I do not want to mislead any of you. The author of the letter was a grandson of Claiborne West of Buckingham County, Va.
