1. Re: [WEST-L] West Family Register [1]
Hi Linda, Thanks for the reply. I hadn't looked at the website closely enough to realize it wasn't complete. I just know my line isn't there. I wish I knew for sure which of Mrs. Stone's lines I'm trying to connect to. I think I connect to the William Wests of Princess Anne County, VA. But I can't be certain of that because I have found no positive proof that either of them (William Sr. or William Jr. - it would probably have to be William Sr. based on the age of William Jr. who died in 1744) had a son na

I have been trying for years to find someone that may have her parents names. Trying to go back further on the CRABTREE line on her sister for about 21 years. Also I am curious about your WEST line. Also, LB Stone's author's notes on the book are also available on film and contain some excellent information for the West researcher. Check with any center for availablity, which is generally ordered from Salt Lake, UT. Hope this is of some help, Richard [West line out of Sussex Co, DE, c1600-1700s] >Date: Mon, 26 Feb 2001 18:25:44 -0600 >From: "Gary Thompson"

Here's another option. Go to this URL http://www.westfamilygenealogy.com/west/register.html . It's not my website, but I think the entire book has been transcribed here for anyone who wants it, and it's free. As an aside, I think I tie into one of the lines Mrs. Stone has traced too, but I can't figure out how yet. Good luck, Paul West

While Mrs. Stone's book is a great research tool, please remember that there many errors in it. Mrs. Stone did an outstanding job considering what information was available to her at the time ( the 1920s). I have copies of letters that she wrote to West researchers in SC, (where she was doing research on my line) in which she admits to the errors and talks about publishing a second addition of The Register, but she passed away before she could. I have a copy of The Register- I am willing to do look

23. [WEST-L] James WEST- Walton GA-1820 [1]
Hello Cousins: I have found James WEST in the 1820 Walton Co. GA census. Living next door is Jonathan WEST. Both James and Jonathan are listed in the 26-45 age category. If this is my James, he was b abt 1786 in NC. Jonathan looks like a possible brother of James in this census. The eldest female in the household of Jonathan is 16-26, so I am guessing that Jonathan may be younger than James. Does anyone have a clue about either of these WEST's, or any connection to Walton Co. GA WESTs? There
