My Grandmother was Pirley "Pearl" Andrew West, b. 22 Sep 1875 in Water Valley, Yalabusha Co., MS, d. 1956 in Tacoma, Pierce Co., WA, m. 20 Feb 1898 in Holly Springs, Marshall Co., MS to Arthur Augustus Manning, b. 4. Re: [WEST-L] Isaac West, 1790 Census, Lincoln Co, NC [1]
Hello Edith Gomez: I do not know Walter Turner, who you say is descended from William West b.1823 in TN and d. in Marshall Co., MS, but he sounds like someone I should meet if you know how to contact him. I know there were other Wests in Tippah and Marshall Counties around the mid-1800s, but I have not been able to connect any of them to my family. And I am sorry, I cannot help you with your request for information regarding James Madison West. Thanks for your help. I have not yet made the

Joe, I'm not sure if any of this helps in any way. But I just looked through all the info I found (census records, wills, etc) and just mentioning any Thomas West's I found and the little bit of info that I have on them. 1-1840 Spartanburg Co, SC census list a Thomas West on page 101, no other info, do not have actual census record, just page # it can be found. This county borders NC (Rutherford and Polk Counties) 2-Will of Thomas West Rutherford Co. NC 1784-1833 Mentions 2 youngest sons Isaac and Wi

Hello Mark West: Thank you for the Thomas West information you sent. Hopefully I can someday make the connection somewhere. Yesterday I went ahead and signed up for the West DNA test with the hope that it may open some doors. Thanks again. 7. RE: [WEST-L] WEST BANISTER [1]
Dear Patricia My West family originated in Leicester, England, where Henry West was a foundry worker in the 1830's & 40's, and where there were also many other West families in the county of Leicesterhsire. I have noticed your West family in London, although as yet I have been unable to find any connection. I am looking for any mention of a Henry Robert West, who arrived in Australia as a private citizen, but under some sort of cloud, most likely during the 1890's. He left a wife behind in Suffolk, Engla

9. Re: [WEST-L] Isaac West, 1790 Census, Lincoln Co, NC [1]
Thanks Mark, for your reply. My guess (from reading Internet postings and minute research on my part) is that the Isaac West from SC is one that gets confused with the Isaac West of Lincoln Co by many researchers. The others are probably descendants of Isaac West of Lincoln Co. I was hoping that some descendant out there could give me an approximate birth date and a listing of children based on real sources as you have done for the individuals in your previous post. Up til now all my research has bee
10. Robert West, Va/Ohio [1]
Hi, I am seeking further information on my ancestor Robert West, born Sept 27, 1775 in Fairfax, Virginia, moved to Ohio to Clermont and Clinton Counties. Married to Henrietta Fairfax, born abt. 1795 in Virginia. I am seeking help on his ancestors beyond what I have learned-- that his father was Thomas West and mother Sarah Trammel. I have to offer what I have gathered on his descendants and also photos of his headstone at Lees Creek, Ohio. There is much on the Internet on his connections to the De La Wa

Joe West, You must be related to Walter Turner who is descended from William West b. 1823 in TN and d. in Marshall Co., MS. Walter and I have been trying to connect our West families. I descend from James Madison West, b. Aug 1818 in TN and d. shortly before 1920 in Marshall Co., MS. My Grand Aunt Ada Mattison (West) Preher was living with Walter's Aunt/Grand Aunt Josephine West when she died in 1956 [I think] or 1959 in Marshall Co., MS. James Madison West married Amanda Jane Ragsdale Dec 1866 in Har

After reading postings on this site they seem to be all American but I am asking you all anyway for your help.I am looking for Eliza Charlotte Banister who married Frederick West in 1880 in Marylebone . 15. Re: [WEST-L] Isaac West, 1790 Census, Lincoln Co, NC [1]
1-I have found an Isaac West buried at Cane Creek Baptist Church in Rutherford Co. NC who seems to have served for the CSA. 2-Also found a Isaac West listed in the 1800 Spartanburg Co. SC census between 26 and 45 years old. 3-Also found notes from a will of Thomas West (1784-1833) of Rutherford Co. NC who listed 2 sons Isaac West and William West. 4-Found and Isaac West in the 1840 Rutherford Co. NC census listed between 40 and 50 years old. I know these don't match the records you have but maybe the
16. Re: [WEST-L] Isaac West, 1790 Census, Lincoln Co, NC [1]
Hello Mark West: Do you have any further information regarding the Thomas West of Rutherford County, NC, who had sons William and Isaac, that you mentioned in your February 15th letter to the "list"? My great grandfather, William Berry West, died in Marshall County, Mississippi about 1887. Census records indicated he was born in Tennessee in 1823, and later census records indicated both his parents were born in North Carolina. Since William Berry named his firstborn son "Thomas" (actually, J

My great grandmother, Lillie Ann West married Martin D. Hicks. Lillie Ann's parents James J. West and Caroline Langley. James J. West's dad was Job and Nancy West. Job's father was Nathaniel West from Virginia. Let me know if this fits with anything you may have. Etna nodakgal1@wmconnect.com
18. WEST DNA testing [1]
Etna, Fabel, Edith, and others, I really wish I had a positive answer, but the only way this test can be pursued is to find a living male who has the surname WEST from your line. In Edith's case, and many others, when she finds that person she will have crashed one of her brick walls, because she knows that her James WEST has no living male descendents with the WEST surname. When she finds the parents of James WEST, or the name of one of his brothers, she can follow that line forward to see if there

I'm looking for information on Isaac West who was listed on the 1790 Census of Lincoln Co, NC. I look forward to any response.
22. Re: [WEST-L] For Edith Gomez [1]
I do not have a male living West surname relative, but is there any way I can find which line my West relatives fit in with. Etna nodakgal1@wmconnect.com
23. Re: [WEST-L] For Edith Gomez [1]
As far as I can tell (and I am in the same boat) is just tying to your line link by link...once you tie onto a family who has done the DNA - than I think you are pretty safe. There are no living West males in my line. So...I guess I'll ask you where your West's link. The last link for me was my grandmother, Jessie Belle West (Willbanks), her parents were Sarah S. Webb and Thomas Conley West, Thomas's parents were Jeffrey & Ollinda Smith - does any of this sound familar? Fabel ----- Original Message ----
