I too, would be interested in seeing some documentation on the Frances West
and Margery Reeves and Frances West and Susannah Soule connetion. I have
gone thru most of the New England documentation and cannot find anything.
Neither can I find any reliable source that says that this West family is
connected to the DeLaWarre family.
If anyone has these references [reliable} I am sure that there are many of
us who would benefit from having you share them with us.

BTW I went to State of NC Archives today. I copied all the index information on all marrages in NC prior to 1800 (that is time frame I am researching) and will be compiling that list and will post it here.

Hi Marlene,
I got this several months ago and just have not had time to do anything
with it yet. Let me know if it helps.
I am not certain but I think there are another one or two Claiborne

Ihave been noting all the traffic about Francis West married to Margeret
Reeves. The information I have would have him born in England in or about
1608, married abt 1639 and d abt 1694 in CT. No data on Margeret but do have
offspring from them including Thomas. Will have to look at my data again and
see how it matches some read on the list in the last week or two.

Okay, the info you are giving me is the 1860 census, NOT the 1850.
In 1860, Jones County NC, dwelling/family 457 is John West, 40, Emaline
[West], 20, and Georgiana [West], 2. That is all the information that was
filled out on the form (no occupation or place of birth, etc.) There are
also 11 and 13-year-old girls in the household - not Wests, but the last
name is difficult to read.
Dwelling/family 478 is John West, 50, overseer. He also has a Lydia Wells,
18, in his household.
This again raises the q
My gr grandfather James WEST (born 1839 Dundee Scotland) had a nephew George WEST who I believe was a policeman in New Orleans, LA. I have a picture taken about 1910 with James and two nephews James and George WEST. George is in a policeman's uniform. I believe this George's father was also named George. Does anyone have a contact with these WESTs who lived in New Orleans? Thank you.

I have some more ALEXANDER WEST'S. Some may be repeats because I can't remember which ones I already posted. Another Senior Moment.
ALEXANDER WEST born abt. 1670 in ACCOMACK COUNTY and he married MARY MAJOR born in ACCOMACK COUNTY, Virginia. I just have one child listed for them.
SCARBURGH WEST born abt. 1703 in ACCOMACK COUNTY, VA.
ALEXANDER WEST, the fourth, born 6/02/1825 in PASQUOTANK, NORTH CAROLINA, father was JOHN WEST , mother was SARAH J. HURST.

I am very much interested in Hollon WEST, when and where she died, as well
as her maiden name.

Dear Mary,
My heart goes out to you on this matter. Sometimes we need something like this to break our thoughts and wake up to the fact that we really need each other in time of stress. I have just come a funeral memorial of a dear friend that had only been married just 16 months and died of cancer. Her husband/widower is also under a lot of stress at this time.
Bless you for sharing your grief with the rest of us.

How would this DNA work for any New England West Lines? I have a Blanchard
connection and that line also has done a DNA testing but they asked for
members of the list to contribute to the cost of the testing so that it did
not fall only on the one being tested and that seemed fair. I donated to that
testing.
But would this one be of benefit to my line? I descend from Lovey West

Hello West researchers,
My name is Elaine Hubbard. I am a descendant of John Colby (1764-1850) who
was born in Rumford, Washington Co., VT. He married Abigail West
(1776-1818) in 1791 in Corinth, VT. They both died in Sardinia, Erie Co.,
NY. John Colby was a son of Ezekiel Colby, one of the first settlers of
Corinth, and his wife, Sarah (Sally) Fowler.
My Abigail West is presumed to be a daughter of Rev. Thomas West
(1732-1797), a Baptist minister, and his wife, Amie (Amey)
