1. [WEST-L] James West [1]
Does anyone on the list have a James West who married Elizabeth Peacock in Burlington County, NJ, in about 1778? Have seen very little info on this marriage and am not sure that it did occur, although I did find it on a DAR application done in 1963. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Doris

4. Re: [WEST-L] Benjamin West birthplace [1]
Karen, As Lisa knows, I've been meaning to go there for some time... and I'm reasonably close. I've been told there isn't a great deal to see, though.. Do be aware that it's not exactly the "ancestral home" or anything. If I recall correctly, the family was renting the house and running it as an inn when Benjamin was born. 8. RE: [WEST-L] Wrightsville Arkansas [1]
Barb, Thanks for your effort, but that Alfred isn't mine. There was some type of fatal railroad accident in Wrightsville....he had just moved there with his family, wife Theresa (or Terressa) son Allison (Allisen), Daughter Lizzie, Son Hugh, and another unknown child.....about a year prior to his death. He was a saw mill worker, and was 35 years old.....his family returned to Pennsylvania, where I found his wife remarried about 10 years later. Just trying to find an actual obituary for him.......Arkansa

My focus is on the Whitlatch family. I posted my query to the West list hoping that someone on that list would have info on Flora Whitlatch from having researched her husband Charles. Of course, I'd like to have all of their data including parents and children (and their descendants) plus dates and places. I was particularly interested in confirming her parents. I have in my database a Flora Whitlatch (no spouse given) whose parents were George Matthew Whitlatch and Rebecca Jane Duncan. But I need conf

Hi List... I'm really hitting dead ends in my quest for information so I was hoping that maybe someone here would have some familiarity with the people I have begun looking at as potential links to my family. On the 1830 Centre County Census, Lamar township Samuel West and Conrad West are listed. As I am unable to locate many other persons in the area, I am thinking that one of them may be the father or grandfather of Hugh St. Clair West born in 1826 in Boggs Township, Centre County PA. I have one bit of information concerning an Elizabeth West. The following was printed in the Knoxville, TN Register newspaper on April 9, 1834. "A list of letters remaining in the Post Office at Kingston, TN on the 1st of April, 1834, which, if not taken out before the 1st day of July next, will be sent to the General Post Office as dead letters . . . Elizabeth West or Joseph Cloud." The Kingston Post office was located in Roane County, TN. > [Original Message] > From: Myra Chambers >
