Carol,
To answer your questions, the 1850 Census is the only Census in which I found Eli DECKER in Grayson County at all, although, I have not yet been able to search the 1870 or 1880 Census records. Sally (or Sarah) NEWTON is listed as the head of household in the these Censuses with her five children, born approximately from 1851 to 1867. Eli NEWTON is the third child (b. 1860). In the 1880 Census, there is also an adopted child listed (b. Abt 1873). All of the children of Sally NEWTON are listed wit

Also, the University of Kentucky has a collection of Grayson County newspapers. The web site is at http://www.uky.edu/libraries. You can e-mail them at refdesk@pop.uky.edu. They are sending me an inventory of the Grayson County newspapers they have. I would happy to share it with the list once I receive it.

While I have been doing genealogy for many years now, I am very new to US genealogy. I just received a death record which has created more questions than it solved, and I am hoping you will share your insight with me.
I received the death record of Eli NEWTON, b. 15 Oct 1860, d. 8 Jun 1936 in Annetta, Grayson, KY. It gives his parents as Eli DECKER and Sally NEWTON. His place of burial is Decker Cemetery.
1870 and 1880 Census records show several children with Sally NEWTON, but list no father. The 1
Can anyone tell me where Decker Cemetery is? I think it may be in or near Annetta, Grayson County.
Also, where might I locate an obituary for someone who died in Annetta, Grayson County in the 1930s?
Thanks for your help!

No you should not receive this message; somehow it was sent to you in error.
If it went to anyone else on the list, please ignore it.
This is an example of an error message that is usually sent only to
listonwers. It's not unusual that I would receive several such error
messages every day. The most common reasons that I recieve error messages
are:
#1) MAILBOX FULL (This is by far the most common message I receive)
#2) USER UNKNOWN (Subscribers discontine e-mail service without

Rootsweb already has such a feature. It's great and it's yours. They don't
sell it, you create a password so only you can change it, and you decide
whether you want to let others download copies of it or not. And, it's free
to subscribers of Rootsweb. Try it. You'll love it.
Maybe Rootsweb could just set up a huge space on a server and let us upload
our info there. Then it would be free to anyone with a computer.
