Hello Out There! My husband is trying to locate his ancestors and any descendants of the Nathan H. Gunn and Elsie Nelson family who lived in Coleman County, Texas. Hello! Anyone out there descended from the John Childers/Childress family who moved into Coke County, Texas, in the late 1800's? My husband's Childers family came from Georgia to Bastrop County, Texas, and apparently about that time became Childress. John Childers/Childress, born 1825, and his son, John, moved on to Coke County, and both died there. John, Sr., was married to Anna Jordan/Jordain, and one of their daughters was Frances. Am looking for a death certificate, probate record, or an obituary for Julia Ann JOHNSON. She died 8 May(?) 1906. She was living with her daughter/son-in- law Theo andJulia A McMILLIAN. Her son Samuel JOHNSON and her daughter Nanny NELSON (wife of W.W. NELSON) also lived in Snyder at the time. The local newspaper does not have that year on microfilm. Can anybody give me some information about the Catholic Archives? I am under the impression that there is a central archive in the US that holds much information about events in the churches. When I looked for this central archive I could only find information about the specific dioceses, and then that wasn't even very helpful.
