Hi All,
Can anyone please tell me how I can find out whether there are any
graves in the Kirkmichael cemetery for the surnames Knox or Clegg, and
if so what Christian names go with them.
It seems that Alexander Knox and Jane Clegg were married in Kirkmichael
in 1829, and then moved to Dailly, so I suppose it is reasonable to
assume that they came from there originally?
Regards
Chris
Hello....anyone search MC LAREN originating in Glasgow? Here is the little
information I have:
DANIEL MC LAREN, probably born circa 1885-1888. May have had a brother,
JAMES.
He married AGNES SULLIVAN (date unknown). Emigrated to California in the
early 1900s, where their last child, WALTER MC LAREN was born in Los Angeles
in 1921.
AGNES's mother was a singer on a boat that sailed somewhere between Ireland
and Scotland (how could this be?) Any clues?
She was later orphaned and placed in a foster
Anne---Please contact me directly. To my knowledge the Rev John Cuthbertson
has NO descendants. All of his children died unmarried. I am connected to
this family and have been trying to research them. The Rev John Cuthbertson
said he was born in Ayr, Ayrshire. I have been trying to find the rest of
his family (siblings). I have some info about the Rev's family. One of the
Rev's children, Walter, died about age 20. The other two, John and Sarah
moved to Washington Co., PA. John was a medical doctor

Hi again,
I should have been more specific, the Kirkmichael I'm
looking for is in Ayrshire. Being a colonial I did not know that there
is also a Kirkmichael in Perthshire

I have just received copies of bereavement cards for my father's
paternal grandparents. Being unfamiliar with Scotland's geography, I
don't know which part of the country I should get a map for to find the
locations.

Hello fellow researchers.,
You will probably come across this message on many boards, as I am
unsure where I same the message I am looking for.
Someone wrote (e-mail'd) somewhere that they had (or was
descended/related too) a RITCHIE that was a TEA PLANTER in CEYLON and had
retired back to DORSET England? If that person is out there I would like to
make contact as I have discovered that I have such a person in my family
tree?
Please reply.

John W. McGeorge was born ca 1730. He settled on 400 acres in Owens
Creek, Louisa Co., Virginia, United States, in 1754. He died in 1795 in
Bedford Co., Virginia.
John W. McGeorge is believed to be the father of James, William, Thomas,
Lawrence, Margaret, and Nancy.
I've been told McGeorge is a form of MacJarrow which originated in
Ayrshire.

Mary in California, U.S.A.

marriage noted above, which took place at TIBERMORE. This is copied
