Have hit the preverbal brick wall on Gideon Winfrey/Winfree, b. 1731 in Amelia/Nottoway Parish or CO., VA, He died in 1782. His wife was named Ann and they had 8 children. 2. WINFREY and MIDGET [1]

Two little girls named Letitia Alexandria and Jeanetty were adopted by a Winfrey family either in Tennessee or Davenport, Iowa. Their mother was Margaret Midget. Supposedly, the girls' father was John A. Winfrey, Confederate soldier, who died of pneumonia in a Union prison, maybe in Rock Island, Illinois.
