3. Winfrey's from Kentucky? [1]
Looking for anyone who has any information at all on a Newton Winfrey, born in Kentucky..... He is my great great grandfather and I am searching for any info at all, as I have nothing on him, only his name! He had a daughter named Verna and that is all that I know. I believe that he would have been born in the mid 1800's. He later lived in Texas because that is where Verna was born in 1883. If anyone has anything at all, please let me know! Thank you! Rani

The 1870 Adair County, Kentucky Mortality Schedule (done in census years) shows a Laura P. Winfrey age 6 white female who died in March, 1870 (?) as a result of her clothes catching on fire. Can anyone identify the family towhich this little girl belonged among the several Winfrey families in south central Kentucky. Thank you for your help.
