Even if this is not a question about research or other such info, I thought it might be a handy bit for those of you that are lucky enough to find information from newspaper clippings! Preserving a newspaper clipping - large bottle of club soda and 1/2 cup of milk of magnesia, soak for 20 minutes and let dry, will last for many years! Would SKS please check the Caernarfonshire parishes bordering the Menai Straits for the marriage of Evan Jones and Gwen Owen. I had asked the Anglesey Lookup to check the Anglesey Marriage Index for this marriage but it drew a blank, and I put it to the possibility they may have married before 1754. On Saturday, however, I was able to consult the marriage index for Llanidan, the parish where they lived, and accordin to this, Evan Jones died in 1776 aged 40, and Gwen Owen, his wife, died aged 66 (her year of

I had thought maybe some more children would have been at home - there was at least a son, Gruffydd, born c 1841, and two sisters - Jane (c 1851) and Mary (c 1843). Mary was married to John Roberts (1840-1919) with a houseful of children (10 in all, one of whom appears on the 1871 in Penlon) and living at Glandwr House/Shop in Trevor (Llanaelhaearn).
