1. Re: Unsubscribe [1]
Have a wonderful visit! I live in England, close enough for day visits to the place of my birth in Wales yet even after fifty year I still feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as we drive through Montgomeryshire along the valley of the River Severn bringing back happy memories of paddling in the river in childhood. I was born just a few miles from the source. Regards, Margaret Harvey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Berwyn Jones" To:
2. Re: Guildsfield [1]
Cindy, You can order the Bishop's Transcripts for Guilsfield from the nearest LDS (Mormon) family history center on microfilm. There are some years missing but, essentially, they cover 1667 to 1859. The original parish register is held at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. There is no online version of parish registers that I'm aware of. 3. Re: Joseph Evan Jones - butcher - Llanfyllin [1]
David, The entry below from the 1881 Census Index looks to be a good match for your Joseph Evan JONES, but I would suggest you obtain the 1891 Census for Llanfair Caereinion or Llanfyllin and locate the family that year (microfiche available from the LDS Family History Centers) -- that information would be the most helpful to corroborate this finding. Also, obtaining the marriage certificate of Joseph Evan JONES and wife. 1881 Census Index Dwelling: Ysgybor Fawr Census Place: Llanfyllin, Montgomery,

I will check these Griffiths and thanks for the idea that Llanfyllin could be a misunderstanding of Llansilin in DEN. This could make sense and I will definitely pursue it! 6. Griffith(s) to Edwards to Roberts [1]
Hi Dottie, I may be able to help just a little bit. Here are the Elizabeth GRIFFITHS of around the right age at 1851 on the Powys (MGY) census transcription. 1. is with her family but 2. and 3. I am afraid are not which is unfortunate. Re. the stated birth at Oswestry, don`t be too concerned over that one as I have been tripped up on it. All three villages could very easily be classed as Oswestry as they are all `only just down the road` as it were!! Can you imagine the conversation between the enumer
7. Griffith(s) to Edwards to Roberts [1]
I'm new to this list and would like to post my interests: My maternal ggrandmother was Elizabeth Roberts (latterly Edwards, formerly Griffith). This wording is taken from the birth certificate of her daughter, Jane Elizabeth Roberts, my grandmother. The problem I have is finding where she came from. The information varies on the Llandudno census returns. The Roberts family lived in the Llandudno/Llanrhos area of North Wales on a smallholding called Pant-y-Ffynnon. This house name was a family home sinc
