5. RE: [WOOD] Wood or Woods in KY, IL, MO [1]
Hi Charmaine I have information on an Eliza Jane WOOD born 23 May 1817 born in Clermont Co. Parents were William WOOD and Sarah ? Stephenson. She died in Edgar Co IL 15 June 1901. Married to Dr. Lysander Porter 30 Dec 1850. Not sure if this is related to your Jane. I show a several other Jane WOODs with earlier date of births. See http://home.cfl.rr.com/wwood for info on them. Also I suspect a connection to MANNINGs since they intermarried with WOODs and some also went from Clermont Co to Edgar Co.

7. Re: [WOOD] Henry M. Wood So. Illinois d. 1828 [1]
There is a Henry Wood in my search who supposedly "went west". This would have been late 1700's or early 1800's from the Bedford or Franklin County area. What is the earliest info you have on Henry? Where was his wife from? What were his children named? Usually, the children are named for brothers and sisters of the parents. Hi Walter, Thanks for the info and web site. I believe I checked it out quite awhile back, but I will go through it again and see if I can find anything I missed before. As far as Jane WOOD, I have always been told by my grandma and other Wyatt family elders that they were always told by their father and grandfather (John WYATT's son)that he--John (Jane and Shelby's son) was 1/2

A valid question Jules! I really didn't provide enough information with my question. Yes, I have Googled my way through hundreds of Lions and related websites in my efforts to find out more about this fellow. They all tell substantially the same story. In 1911, Woods (not Wood - my mistake) established the "Royal Order of Lions", a fraternal organisation, at Evansville, Indiana. In 1916, he renamed it "The International Association of Lions Clubs". In 1917, Woods teamed up with Melvin Jones of C
