I am afraid not dolores. My GGrandfather, William H. Woodlief and son of RY
Jr., was in the union army, out of Ohio. Thats all I have.

Hi Phil Patrick,
While gathering info from the WOODLIEF Archives (2002) I discovered
WOODLIEF/LIFF/LUFF is sometimes mistaken for WOODLEY/WOODLY the surname
I am researching, If my memory serves me there was at one-time on the
Internet a wonderful WOODLIEF webpage with access for all researchers to
visit. I found many WOODLEY (Marriages & Military) names connected to
your family. Do you recall this? Can you lead me in this direction?

Attn: John Wesley Woodliff (of NC > Arkansas) researchers .....
I now have what appears to be "proof" that the North Carolina marriage:
5 Jan 1866, Forsyth Co, NC, WESLEY WOODLEY to MARTHA BOWEN, Nathaniel
Johnson bondsman
was, in fact, a Wesley WOODLIFF, rather than "Woodley"
Wesley is shown in the 1850 NC census as age 13, but shown age 19 in
1860...so apparently born sometime between roughly 1837-1841.
Cannot say with certainty that this Wesley Woodliff is the same as your
Jonathan Wesley Woodliff
