Anna and Ann, I believe the difficulty here is that Anna is a generation back. By my notes, the Ann who md Sir George Waldegrave of Smallbridge (and 2nd, Sir Thomas Jermyn of Rushbrook) was the daughter of Sir Robert Drury Sr. and Ann Calthorpe. Woody, Angela, and all, (Angela, sorry I referenced you as "Anna" in my previous message).... I have two sources on the earlier marriage of Robert Woodlief to Jane Smith, one being the House of Parliament biography which gives Jane's father as "Robert" Smith. The other being the Harleian Pedigree which gives her father as "Roger" Smith. Angela, Here is the best reference that I have found: "ROBERT WOODLIFFE was born about 1507 and died on 7 January 1592/3. He married, first, JANE SMITH, daughter and heir of Robert Smith, but she died without issue. Robert Woodliffe married, second, at Chalfont St. Peter, co.
