Hi Listers,
Well, just call it "Woodlief Web" .
The Woodlief/Woodliff Family Association Webpage is up and running,
as is our new Woodlief/Woodliff email list.
Woodlief/Woodliff Family Association website:
http://members.home.net/teylu/woodlief/assn.html
On this site you will find some nifty surprises....links to our new
Woodlief QUERY Forum, as well as boards for posting Wills, Deeds, Bible
Records, Obituaries, etc.
I'll send a separate email later telling you a bit more about the boards
- they are
Mary E. Woodliff married Jesse Clayton in Hall County, Georgia on
24 May 1824. Mary was the daughter of Augustine Woodliff and Mildred
Ryan.
Jesse and Mary lived in Hall, Forsyth, Cherokee, and possibly Henry
Counties
in Georgia from 1824 to ?

Welcome, Carl!
I'll say up front I'm don't have any information on your Mary and
Charles, but it really is intersting you should post about Lincolnshire
on today of all days.
I've been discussing Lincolnshire Woodliffes with another researcher who
is helping me with some Buckinghamshire Woodliffes who seem to have
roots back to Lincolnshire, but the documentation on that is slim.
This stretches way back, I'm afraid, more than a hundred years before
your Mary. I don't know if you're aware, but most Woodlif
Well folks,
It's there....it works...no more slogging to the LDS FHC when you need
an IGI lookup.
Just point your browser to:
http://32.96.111.13/default.asp
and you can search it all in your jammies with a comfy cuppa at home. ;-)
Great timing cause it's pouring rain here this morning .
It's free and it's great...and we should all write thankyou notes to the LDS!
The net is great!
It still says it's a test site...but it is working great!

Hi Everyone,
So Glad to hear of the list. My interest is Mary WOODLIFFE. who married
Charles BRAY on 23 July 1764 at Gayton-le-Marsh Lincolnshire.
Mary was born about 1746 in Gayton-le-Marsh and was buried 13th May 1798 in
Covenham St Bartholomew just up the road where she spent most of her married
life. She had eight children (at least) between 1769 and 1790.
Is anyone researching the same line?
Thanks
Carl

Wow Sandy, that's terrific! Of course, one would wish that the data in
their bank was (were?) a bit more reliable, but it's nice to have somewhere
to go. Now if I could just find the time to look up all those loose
ends...!

Sandy thanks for the information.
There are many Woodliffes in Lincolnshire. There are 510 events listed under
the soundex name Woodliffe for Lincolnshire in the IGI.
Nineteen of those entries are before the year 1600 and 211 are between 1600
and 1700. So the family name in Lincs stretches quite far back.

Hi Joe,
Could you give us a bit more information about Mary?
What timeframe was this...and do you know to whom she was married and
when/where they married?
Thanks,
Sandy
